This challenge is going to be very simple. DanielK, Fishermansfriend and I are going to do a challenge where the two losers have to pay a dinner for the winner. Nothing to serious, mainly for fun and to motivate ourselves to play poker!

      Details of the challenge:
Goal: Most profit (or least losses) by the end of the month wins dinner from the two losers
      Stake: 100NL only. HU/SH/FR allowed
Volume: minimum 10K hands, can play as much as you want
      Rooms: Any pokerroom you want
      Rakeback/bonus: Excluded
      Duration: December 2011

Along the way, you guys will hopefully find out something more about all of us by all our updates and stories.

      Something about me:
I'm Melvin, 21 years old and working in the PokerStrategy.com office in Gibraltar for almost 2 years now. I started out as the Dutch community manger, but recently started to help out with the German/English content as well!

Poker history, I went from SNG to NL cashgames. First FR, then SH. Then I moved to PLO SSS where I still made most of my profits. Then I had a long period where I didn't play so much, because I started working here at PokerStrategy.com

Nowadays I play mainly Heads-Up. I've made some profit on NL100 over the past months, but lost most of it on NL200 again. We'll see how this month goes. I expect to win this challenge and order expensive bottles of wine next to my 7 course dinner!

Keep you updated, challenge starts today!

      Good luck guys!

How will you be defining the winner? Most $$$ at end December? :f_p:

      Also,
I will take part - with random flames and rants against the guys.

Also: My suspicion is that If only profit would count I could take part profitably by not playing.

Thank you, i already made a huge comeback :D

But first i want to introduce myself because most of the english community wont know me. Im Daniel, 22 years old and im originally from germany.

Im MTT Coach for the german community and also working now fulltime for Pokerstrategy. Im responsible for all our german and english Videos / Coaches.

Nowadays with the fulltime job i dont have the time anymore to grind the tournaments everyday. So i switched to Cashgame NLSH and also PLO.
Im also having a quiet liked blog in the german community.

The Challenge was a spontan idea from Melvin and me to motivate ourselves to grind more. Because normally we wont play 10k hands / month even if a lot of you will say LOOL 10k Hands whats that :P

If you want to know more about me, just ask :)

Yeah and now back to the challenge, the first day was really horrible for me and i really thought the challenge is already over with 7 Stacks behind. But its all just one BIG Session :) So i grinded a lot and im back to even now.
And im really happy because i won around 400 $ with really close calls in really fuck my life spots.

      I like your updates:
Fishermansfriend posting a lot of giraphs,
Melvin getting a lot of volume
and DanielK - we like you

      but wait,I hear something...
      Whuuuup-whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup...
      ..oh... something for you guys:

btw dear readers: I offered the three guys to participate without playing (i.e. I only would have won if none of the three had positive winnings or did not reach 10k hands) - but they didn't want to take the risk.
I can perfectly understand that, the risk is just too high for them.

Sorry for the lack of updates here! Been busy with a lot of things, mainly party-ing, working, playing League of Legends (oh god, why did I even download this..) and being sick :( . Also my laptop kind of died, so I've lost my database but i'm trying to get this back.

at the moment, I am at around 1k hands and unfortunately down $180ish. This proves James his point about me not reaching the 10k hands. :)

some pics to make up for the lack of updates:

Our entire group when we went to a club in Estepona with 3 limousines. Awesome service and great atmosphere in the club!

Yulia (our Russian CM), me (the hat isn't mine..), Andie (friend)

I will still try to get to the 10k hands and make some nice profits along the way, my actual goal is even 15k hands, but this might be somewhat overoptimistic.

Just started the grind again! still trying to get the full graph, since I've lost my old HEM database when I formatted my laptop.

There will be a lot of catching up to do in terms of hands, luckily not so much in terms of profit so I'm still quite confident I can win this challenge!

Will update more frequently with interesting situations.
