This is my first blog at

At first I’m not going to put a lot of personal stuff here. I like the feeling that I can hide behind my online nick for now. Also; this is a poker blog – therefore it’s about poker – not me. I might change my mind later on, but let’s start like this.

I’m starting this blog for a few reasons:

Poker “Therapy”: I need a place to get some pity when I’m running bad, and obviously a place to brag when I’m running good !

Working on my poker mindset: when I’m playing a livegame I’m fully capable of putting my feelings aside and play my A-game. When I put my money on the table it’s not money its “just” chips – this is in my mind the healthiest approach to poker. You can’t be moneyscared no matter what stakes you’re playing. The story is a little different online where I’m condescending myself to a “this is obviously rigged” conspirator. I hope this blog can help me get a better mindset and a more professional approach to online poker.

Motivation: probably the prime reason for this blog. I’ve started quite a few poker projects: STT (including DONs), MT SNGs, NL25, MTTs. Every time I’ve started a new project I’ve been running god for a few days/weeks, and then, at the first glance of a downswing I’m quitting and taking a break from poker. Just to start up a new project a few weeks later. This time has to be different – and that is why I’m writing this blog. Hopefully I’ll somehow feel responsible for bringing news to this blog.

Last but definitely not least I want to share my experience climbing the stakes (yea I know it’s a cliché but nonetheless I’ll also use it )

      My Project:

Grinding PLO25 SH big time !

I’m starting with a rather small amount in my Stars account, and this is the amount I’m going to update as my Bankroll. But I’m recognizing that PLO can be a swingy business and therefore this isn’t my entire roll. I’ll keep 1000$ as a backup roll.

Starting BR 401.16$ in my stars account and 1000$ as backup roll.

Long term goal: move up to PLO50 within 2012

Short term goal: grind 100k hands and evaluate/improve my game in the progress

(My goals might be more specific later on)

I’m going to post a story from my visit at the local casino last week, either later today or tomorrow. I’ll also post my first graph when I’m through the first 5k hands.

Flo Rida and I both have a good feeling about this project :)

      Have Fun out there :s_biggrin:

      Solid post :)

Although I would recommend refraining from whining when you're running bad if you're truly looking to improve your poker mindset. This was the first step for me in improving my mindset, stopping using my blog as a place to "vent" after a shitty session. Sure it feels good for a few seconds but afterwards you read it back and you just look like a whiny bitch :D As soon as I realised that not only was ranting in my blog about a downswing unhelpful to me, but also that nobody else wanted to read my negativity then I stopped ranting and whining in my blog.

This limitation of my whining helped me a lot with my mindset, although i've still got a long way to go obviously :D

@ ingrid; Thx alot. unfortunately i havent hit the "milestone" of 5k hands yet - hopefully ill post the graph 2morrow

@Wriggers; thx for ur wise words ! whining should be kept away from blogs :) thats exactly my goal - to keep a positive attitude.

my visit @ the local casino

last weekend i was eating and drinking (alot !) with some friends. a couple of hours after midnight i figured it might be a gr8 idea to go spew at the local casino.
im buying into a 20/40 dkkr (approx 4/8$) game for 2k dkkr. the game is 50% regs and 50% fish (even the regs are fishy in this game)

a few hands in theres a few limps before me and i limp KJs (yea i should raise but im playing it passive for some reason) the guy to my left, whos even more drunk than i am, raises to 500 dkkr. its folded arround to me and he proudly shows J10s thinking he scooped the pot. since im still in the dealer rules that he has to play the hand with hes cards revealed. i think like 5 secs before going all in for my 2000. he insta folds.

tells something about how fishy the game was :)

i might pull up some hands later on for analysis, but for now i'll just tell that i left the game with 11.500 Dkkr. shoving a profit of 9.500 dkkr (just shy of 2k$).

      Finally a graph !

      here goes:

im not exactly satisfied with the result, but again - it could be worse.

just happy to be in Green numbers

i have to review my style of play. i think im seeing to many flops and not beeing aggressive enough. (posting stats later on)

i've decided only to play tours if i have fpps enough to buy into a tour (or qualify via fpps) this means that my roll can only be affected possitive by tours.

i played sunday storm & Big10$ this sunday and cashed in the storm for approx 75$

this brings my bankroll to a total of 493.75$

hopefully i can post the next 5k hands this upcoming weekend.

      10k Graph:

      Bankroll: 531.29$

its been a swingy week. i think my game is getting better every hand i play. im satisfied with my progress, but again i would love to have a graph thats consistently pointing upwards.

i'll keep grinding it out, and im sure the results will come eventually !

tonight im spending my fpps on the following tournaments:

10+1$ Sunday storm (om going to use my "ONE TIME" on this one :D )
      The Bigger 11$
      The Bigger 22$

2x Step 2 27$ (qualified to both from step 1)

ill throw in an update or two later on if i find my progress worth mentioning !

      GL out there

Hero Call or Std. Fold ??

here's a hand that got me thinking. ive hidden river decision since thats where i need ur opinion.

preflop i complete my SB per defealt (might be a mistake) when its raised and called in 2 spots i call to make it 4 way.

check flop oop. and calling buttons std. bet. EP limper is raising, and this is where the hand gets interesting.

button folds and i have a decision: i have an openended straight flush draw, which means im not folding. i dont see the point in raising in this spot since i have no clue how strong my opponent is.

i check turn suspecting a random 7 to keep firing at the pot. he surprisingly checks behind.

river pairs the board once again, and i check to get to showdown. he thinks for a while and takes a stab at the pot.

feel free to post ur thoughts on river Call or fold ??
(ill post my decision and the result later on)

rly no response to my hand ?

anyways, heres the rest of it.

i simply cant see him takes this line with any kind of value hand except quads. the check on the turn simply made me think i had the best hand.

and even if hes betting for value with a random 7 i can still beat that.

K7 is out of the picture because i think he would keep betting the turn with that hand.
      88 would do the same.
      K8 would be a puke.

i called, he could only show a bluff, I WIN :)

      thoughts is still appreciated.

      River: ($13.50, 2 players) K:club:

      Hero shows Q:spade: 9:spade: T:spade: A:heart: (Flush, King High) (Pre 52%, Flop 70%, Turn 100%)
      Hero wins $26.16

last weekend was a horror weekend for me. i lost quite a few buy ins and im overall down approx 200$ for my cashgame. :f_cry:

yesterday i was semitilted because of the loss i had and started up a few HU sngs. on the side i started a 4.4$ (1500$ gtd) PLO tour.

i won a 32 man HU NLHE tour for 74$ ish and won the PLO tour after a deal HU for 343$ ish. this brings my BR to 739.16$

not satisfied with my lack of commitment, but im rather satisfied with the result.

i'll probably not gonna play much the rest of the year, but im in for the big grind from january 1.

untill then; have fun out there :)

i have been rly lazy in the blogging section for a while now, and therefore i've made some nice progress since my last post.

first im going to share my graph for yesterdays action. it started out as a nightmare... ive never lost this many buy ins (in cashgames) within such a short period. i quit being approximately 10 BI's down and didnt want to be anywhere near a pokertable for a while. i did the dishes, the loundry - got my mind of poker !

but with no more housework to do, poker got on my mind again. i couldnt believe having such a bad session. i went back to the tables for a couple of hours grinding back arround 4-5 BI's. happy to turn thins arround, but still wanted to bring my day back to green numbers i once again left the tables, this time to prepare dinner for me and my GF.

after eating and watching a movie (inglorious basterds - great movie btw) GF went to bed, and i hit the tables for the third time.

here's my graph for the day - What a rollercoaster :)

overall my progress has been great since i started this blog. unfortunately i havent been good at sharing it

december was bad. ended up lossing around 8 BI's January on the other hand was amazing. i only played a few days, but i did put a lot of volume in these days, grinding my way into a nice profit.

february has been a sick rollercoaster, but as of now im in +1 BI app.

in other news i've had a hard time quitting tours completely. lucky for me i've had some nice cashes ( 2 times 380$ ish from PLO tours and a few smaller cashes in NLHE)

this brings my bankroll to: 1974.60$ (+ 60$ of stellar rewards i havent paid out yet)

my plan for this week is to put in some nice volume, in order to make fpps enough to buy in to 2x sunday storm, big11 and big22 this sunday.

my official short term goal is to hit 100k hands of PLO25 (obv. with a nice profit) and to hit a bankroll of 2500$.
When both these goals are accomplished i will move up to PLO50.

my long term goal (within this year) is to hit a bankroll of atleast 5k$ and atleast 100k hands of PLO50 b4 moving up to PLO100 - i might mix PLO50 and PLO100 since i want more than 50 BI's for PLO100 (i know, im a bankroll nit)

last but not least, my goal is to blog atleast once a week !

TEASER: next blog is going to be a feedback on the PLO CG videos released this year. without spoiling it, i can honostly tell that i enjoyed both TwiceT and Nazgul's contribution to the video section.
