I think its fine to go broke, but I'd reraise his raise and call a shove instead of shoving directly. You want to get calls from weaker hands...

At first i was thinking about just a raise. But i think i need to raise at least to $4. If called i'll have a $9 pot with just $6 left...

If an ace or king showes up, i'm fucked. If not, it's likely that a hand like AK won't pay me off.

OMG, you said the F word! :P

By raising to $4, if he calls you're commited that's true. But by shoving directly you make a lot of weaker hands fold, including AK, by raising less than all-in but enough to make you committed to the pot, you extract more value from weaker hands like Thorsten said.

Yes. Another aspect is deception. If you incorporate bluffs in your game, you don't want to shove as a bluff in this spot, but reraise only to 3.50 or so - it basically commits you, too, but if you make a bluff and get shoved by a very tight raiser, you can fold.
