      My name's Marcos.

I'm 23, been playing poker for a couple years recreationally.

I was always 'pretty good' in the home games in my college campus coming out with some winnings here and there but i knew that my game lacked ALOT.

A couple months ago I went the whole book route After reading up on the Harrington on Hold Em series, i opened up an account on PS about 45 days ago, started with a BR of $5 and now i'm at $300.. and i still feel like i'm 'pretty good' but i also still feel that my game still lacks alot, which is why i joined. I've heard wonders about this place. hope to learn as much as possible.

      cheers fella's

nice, I've been there a fair share of times, fun times most def. lol I'm a Floridian tho, never could handle the cold too well.

I'm currently back in Honduras, trying to get into the export/import business with my father back in the states and its really a very nice perk that I can actually play online here :)

About the different statuses and points, how do I get to "basic" status?

it already says basic under my name.. does that count for anything :D

      cheers

      fyp :f_grin:

For how to get bronze: "Either collect 1 point or get the starting capital". So most players will get that by starting capital.

no no, free $50 isn't available for US players I'm afraid.. but good news is that you can now buy StrategyPoints.

But just to give you the basic idea. Your status will change depending on how many StrategyPoints you accumulated. Normally you would do this by getting the free $50 and play or simply deposit and play at any of our poker room partners.

Your option is to buy points: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-strategy-usa/ <<-- this link will explain all and beyond :)

if you lost of which status should you buy, just give us some more info on your knowledge of poker and if you already know what level of videos/articles would you like to have access to and we'll come with suggestions!

yeey! wall of text, still like us yeah?

Well I'm not sure I'd qualify as a US player, i mean i wasn't born there and I'm not residing there either.

I'm pretty sure I'd qualify for the $50 right

If you currently live in the US then you do not qualify for the free $50, I'm sorry :(

You still have many options and a great community to be part of :)

ingrid is correct, if you live in the US, then you wouldn't be able to take part in the starting capital offer.

however, you are also correct in saying, that if you don't currently live in the US, then you should be eligible :) of course, security might ask you for proof of residence since we want to avoid any legal issues. :)

anyway, enough of that, a warm welcome to you and good luck in your poker journey! have you passed the quiz and registered for a poker account yet?

      smiles,
      wendy
