UTG+2 bets $5.08 and is all-in, Hero folds

      Results: $1.12 pot ($0.05 rake)

Hero mucked Q Q and lost (-$0.53 net)
      UTG+2 mucked and won $1.07 ($0.54 net)

I think I should have bet more on the flop ~0.38. Then I checked behind on the turn for pot control. What do you think of this?

On the river I can't see him doing this with any hand that I beat. Villain has normal TAG stats with 30% postflop aggression, WTSD=34.2, W$SD=28

      Hi, 0744379!

Yup, nice fold on the river. I don't think you should call indeed.

However, against most opponents I'd rather bet the turn myself (unless I'm sure he's likely to bluff the river in an amount I can call).

If we bet the turn some opponents will still call with 99-JJ because they think the A is such a good card to bluff. Moreover, the draws like pairs+gutshots will quite probably call again too. If we get check/raised we have an easy fold.

So all in all betting might save us some trouble and get us a free showdown since he'll mostly check river and we can check back.

well flop cbet size is ok, but i'd definetaly 2nd barrel the turn because 1, for free sd, 2, he can still call you with worse.

Oh, and yes, you could have bet slightly more on the flop. At these limits there is not much need for balancing your betsizes. So, yeah, between 38 and even 42 is fine, he'd call with 99+ and any 8+GS etc. anyway.
