Hello to anyone reading this!! :f_biggrin:

Decided to start a blog as i feel it will help motivate me and improve my game.
I just want a place to write down and track my goals and progress.
My writing skills are pretty shit, so il try keep posts short and sweet without blabbing on :s_biggrin:

      [About me]
Im a 20 year old, from Scotland. Nothing much more to add there....
      Apart from this guy...

      [Poker history]
I can't really remember what got me into poker.....It just sort of happed ???
I joined Poker-strategy on 12/15/10 almost a year ago! Started off playing MSS on full-tilt, and switched to bss not long before Black Friday.
      Think i had around a $250~ bankroll :(

      [Poker Now]
I received a $50 from poker-startegy to play on Everest.
Started on NL2 but just moved up to NL5 when i had made ~$30 :)
      basically destroyed NL5 at 19.8/100 for 23000 hands :s_cool:
And I'm currently playing NL10 with a Bankroll of $445

I know people like graphs, me included :D , so heres my lifetime for EVEREST:

I also play a homegame with the LADs, every wednesday.
Banter is amazing, dont take it too serious but it is nice to make monieez!!

Been recording my progress with a spreadsheet, only started the graph a few months ago but its looking good:

[My Goals] I need to head off the now, will think of some goals when i get back...

      [x] Think of goals
      [ ]3BI shot @NL25 with $625 bankroll (25BI)
[ ] watch all of the Crushing NL50 Video series
      [ ] 20k hands a month
[ ] reach VIP level "camp II" (2.5k summit points)
      [x] Reach $500 bankroll

If anyones got any questions or anything, please just ask. I'm hoping to have more communication with like minded poker players.

Also if anyone can give me pointers of things they'd like to see in the blog let me know.

      GL at the tables! :s_thumbsup:

Came up with some goals, Nothing too serious. for the time being....

      [x] Think of goals
      [ ]3BI shot @NL25 with $625 bankroll (25BI)
[ ] watch all of the Crushing NL50 Video series
      [ ] 20k hands a month
[ ] reach VIP level "camp II" (2.5k summit points)
      [ ] Reach $500 bankroll

Don't really know what a realistic time scale would be for any of them :f_confused: I'll need to do some calculations for reaching VIP campII. It works out at around $50 rakeback if i reach it. Not sure what % this works out at but again il need to calculate..

Forgot to mention I also play a homegame with the LADs, every wednesday.

      Seat Value = £110 ($173)

Played pretty decent considering I'm a cash game player, basically got chip lead at the final table table, kept a tight image and sat on my stack till the moniezz without taking any risks!

hopefully my rungood continues next week! dont know the field size or pot but I'l update when i find out. Feeling pretty good about my win tho!! :f_biggrin: :D :s_biggrin: [/CENTER]

Also when i left the tournament, I had 2 £1 chips in my pocket, walked up to roulette, last number 4.... £1 on 4.......4 comes in!!!! :f_biggrin: must of been my lucky day

I switched from fulltilt to everest, not by choice, but because poker-strategy offered a free $50 starting roll.

In my opinion, fulltilt had one of the best software going, so it didnt matter where i switched to it wasnt going to be as good.

Took abit of getting used to, i seemed to get timed out all the time (6 tabling)
      But rarely happens now.

The only thing I hate about it is there is no auto rebuy/topup

Glad you'll be following!! :f_biggrin: what format do you play?

      Advice for live donkaments

      Some quick/basic advice..

      - Identify early which players like to defend blinds
      - Identify early any bet sizings, i.e big bet with AA medium bet with 66 etc
      - Ask alot if you can see what they had after the hand, you'll be surprised how often they show
      - Get a tight image early so can epxloit when blinds go up
      - Identify who wants to win and who wants to cash
      - Realise that its live poker and most/everyone will be terrible, if someone doesn't do anything to prove you otherwise, assume everybody is bad
      - People call alot more, so tighten your ranges from early position

Thank you for the advice Pleno.

In the satalite I only identified one solid player, (well from the hands of his I seen, he also had a pretty tight image).

The only time people where rasing where:
preflop, I'm presuming with premium hands, but hardly ever Cbet??
or post flop with a monster such as a set+

I noticed they also liked to try and steal pots on the turn if its just checked through, which is fair enough, but it was so obvious.

Because people are defending super wide it means we should cet more often, for example on dry baords such as j73, q84, k95, a49 etc its very hard for them to have connected as they call pre with j7o etc :D

However people like to cling on so most of the time if you don't improve you should do a "1 and stop" where you have one cbet and then give up, because of this strategy we can use a smaller bet sizing on the flop as if they've hit they'll continue, if they havn't they wont.

      Good luck.

How much should we cbet? about half pot? or is that too much in a tournament for a non made hand?

What about limping in with hands such as JT+ in the early phase (In position with 3+ limpers ahead?)

Thank you for the luck! I hope it comes in handy :f_biggrin:

Yeah both sounds great, when the stacks are deeper its fine to play more speculative hands, if just one limper I prefer a raise to isolate and take some initiative in the hand.

Lost -$60 in the last few sessions :f_cry:
A few bad beats set it off, then my game got horrid! I didn't feel like i was tilted, felt pretty calm :f_biggrin: But I reviewed the sessions and the analysis would say I was on tilt :(
I remember getting scared when i was dealt AA, thinking here we go again time to lose the moniez haha

so on that note, i feel it makes sense to....

Also watched the first part of crushing NL50. I have taken notes and plan to do so for the rest of the series :)
