**I started this blog not knowing that I was going to play MTSNGs and I didn't feel like starting a new one, so you might have to go through boring NL4 material :P **

Hey pokerstrategy, I'm an 18 year old guy from montreal Canada. I've been playing hockey since I was 4. When I reached CEGEP (college), I had the choice of accepting one of three scholarships offered to go to the states or stay here in Canada, make money and party! :f_cool: I decided to stay.

I've had good jobs the past couple years but as you might be able to relate, working for someone else isn't as much fun as working for yourself. So having loved poker for the passed several years, I decided to start taking it seriously.
I deposited $50 into pokerstars, brought it up to $100 and decided to cash it out because I was flat broke and couldn't buy any concert tickets :)
I then passed the pokerstrategy quiz which led me to have $50 on partypoker! Now I want to turn that $50 into a couple houses and cars :D

The journey didn't start too good. It was a little too late when I realized that the SNGs on PP have huge rake. I was down to something like $25? I don't even know. Whatever I've been playing NL2 FR and making that $25 back ever since.

      :diamond: Step 1 :diamond:

When I reach 100 points on PP, withdraw the remaining cash and deposit in pokerstars. (I'm playing a $2 speed rebuy MTT at 22:30. Hopefully that'll give me the remaining 6 points I need)

      :club: Goals on pokerstars :club:

      Move up to NL5 when I have 20 buy-ins
Start studying a lot of SH play!
Crush NL5 SH (play NL5 FR if I'm not doing so good on SH)

Turns out you need to deposit more money into Partypoker to be able to withdraw the bankroll. I was going to deposit $30 and take the BR out right away but then I saw the 100% back bonus! So I'm staying on PP for a little longer :)

NL4 SH is starting to seem easy finally!

      Time: 116 minutes
      Hands: 1238
      Profit: $10.03

I wanted to play more but most of the fish are asleep now :( I need the USA fish to come back! I'm not going to be 5 hours behind of their clock.

      Hey suitedaces1701,

      Nice start you've made :f_cool: .

I'm also playing the micro's at the moment! They can be a bit brutal in terms of bad beats etc. Anyway, following.

      Good luck,

      Danny

@MrMardyBum: Yea tell me about it! But now I'm quitting the session more when the graph is going in the wrong direction and playing until my eyes are dry (or until there's less then 4 good tables) when it's going up :)

@IngridN: haha thanks. I pause to look at it sometimes :f_biggrin:

@DonBartos: I'm going to play the $2.50 180 mans and some othe random MTTs . I used to play them until I went up to $3.50R/$8 when I only had 100BI and hit my downswing :P had to cash out at $150 to pay off the credit card. I will definitely post hands, hopefully soon.

@iFortunatus: thx all the luck to you too

OK. I was not feeling good at all earlier in the day to play poker because I was hungover lol. But I played a good couple hours of guitar and felt good again so I took a crack at partypoker fishes.

      Time played: 75 minutes
      Hands: 665
      Profit: +11.07 :s_cool: $EV: +$12.77

I believe that now is as good a time as it will ever be to post my first graph of NL4 SH. Keep in mind that I started this blog at hand ~9000

Here are a couple hands that I posted for review. In my opinion, I just had the worst tiny session that I've had in a while so I'm taking a break. I'm -$7 in 500 hands

      NL4 SH AQ
      NL4 SH JJ

Decided to play 2 satellites for the $3.30R and the big $2.20 on pokerstars.
So far I'm running great. I won a seat to the $3.30R and in 5/40 and top 28 go through!

      I'll update soon :D

Didn't even cash in those tournaments lol. I admit that my A9o shuve from UTG+1 9 handed w/ 12BB was leaning towards -EV but there were fish calling with Q9o , etc. In the $3.30R I busted KK vs AA :P nothing I can do about that.

OK so today was probably the longest day in my history of EVER! One of those days where the AAs weren't getting any action, if they were, they were only getting me like 15BBs and KKs were finishing even (no losses, no profits). But I ended with $12ish profit in 3000ish hands. Here's the graph of today :)

      PS: NL4 SH TT

      Cracked the $100 :)

I haven't been able to play a lot of hands because of xmas. But I am starting to play more and now I need 25BIs to reach the NL10 level!
I have a $30 bonus to clear, and when I switch to pokerstars, I'll have another bonus so easy money right?

      Reaching goal: 0/25BIs

Just finished a roller-coaster session. I was down 2 BIs at some point, then up 6.5 BIs, and now I stopped at +3BIs in 3K hands. This is basically when my profits dropped 3 BIs in under 300 hands :P mixed with some bad luck and bad plays, it was time to take a little break.

      Goal: 3/25BIs

      NL4 SH AA

OK new boundaries! I had my second NL10 SH session today and I was up 4 BIs (was having a great time lol) and then dwindled it away to finish with +$1.

So now it's time to play only 6 tables at a time and only move up to 8+ when I'm actually beating the limit :)

PS: I got $100 for xmas so I decided to invest it :D

Almost a month since I've updated! OK a couple of things happened while I was gone. I stopped playing cash games for one (but the milestones are back so we'll see what I do about that); I deposited $200 of my $400 win from playgroundpoker (freeroll) into stars so my BR was at $400; I started playing the famous 180 mans again but ended up playing terribly so my BR now had a comfy $60 balance. That is when I decided to restart playing some fifty50s even though I don't really make a lot of money from them but at least I don't lose $340... and then came my new favorite games, the 45 man turbos. Now I'm back up to $300 roughly. Went from playing $0.50 45 mans to $3.50 45 mans in less than a week (I'm starting to mix the $3.50 tomorrow).

keep in mind that all of that junk before the big 180 man drop was done even before I started playing cash games on partypoker :P

After a drunk night at igloofest (rave type event in montreal), I had the best morning in a while! Yesterday I finished with 6% ROI in $3.50 45 mans, today I finished with 86% :s_cool:

I tried to find that good morning video from family guy but there are only bad ones!
