My carreer on PS started summer '07. I started playing SSS but with few succeses, however I followed it strictly. I played my $50 to $200 and began to play sometimes good, sometimes crazy BSS NL10 FR. I didn't play that much but went from $200 to $100 and back a dozen times. Begin this year (february '08) I wanted to try again, and more seriously. I read 5 books, and articles on this site as well as various others. I think I know allot about poker, but need more experience. I played good and went from $150 to $30 playing NL10 FR. I went almost broke, so I decided to play crazy and get lucky, or go to another site for a new $50. I was lucky and went to about $100.

After which I started to play SHORTHANDED NL10. However this is actually impossible on PartyPoker. I pick tables with about 4 or 5 players, and leave when there are 7 or more. I managed to get my br from $100 to $200 in a few weeks and now my bankrolls skyrockets from playing NL10 6max to over $600.

I still have a lot to learn and can use some more experience, however, things are going nice.

Is it possible to focus more on 6max on pokerstrategy?

There are already some articles based on 6-max tables, take a look here:

      Link 1
      Link 2

Furthermore all the post-flop articles can be applied to 6-max tables as well, and don't forget to check out the forum for lots of judged hands which can help you to improve your game as well. Good luck!

      Hello Philipvw,

There migh be more focus on SH articles in the future, considering that it is a heavily played format at PS.com. Until then, as Zeffke already said, there are some articles, and most of the higher up videos are actually in SH format. For me atleast, SH videos did a lot for improving my game.

Best regards and good luck with the blog ;)

I succeeded in my first poker goal! Finally reached $1k by playing NL10. Now I'll see some videos on this site and try to move up.

In the last 2 weeks i played about 38.8k hands and had a winrate of approx 9 ptBB/100 hands. (I don't have any stats program installed on the PC where i played). I played 4 to 6 tables, and tried to play shorthanded by changing tables constantly (on party every table at nl10 is 10 handed). This was enough to push my br of about $300 to $1k.

Seems like you are going not enough and to the wrong showdowns, you only go to 20% of SD, I have something of 24 there and W$SD has to be over 50%+

Altough it's better to post hands and comment them individually

      Good luck

What can the significant change at about 2200 hands mean? Nothing because sample is too small? The loose weekend villainds? ...

Very hard day. I lost 6 out of 9 sets on the showdown and folded another 3 sets on the river (I didn't slowplay them). I like my non SD winning though.

Worst pot was 200BB deep, some donk minraised my 22. I flop the set, stack his KK by the turn, but river is a king...

These are real suck outs. If you learn to stand these things without going on tilt you are really good. I am sure you can do it. :P

Weekend players + (almost) no beats = upswing

The red line is stagnating however. I think it's because i have to many tables to focus on details. Maybe i should close MSN and all other stuff while playing.

At NL25 SH. About $2.5k net. Bonuswhoring some sites. Lacking the ambition to move up (immediately). Maybe i played a bit too much last weeks. I often play too automatic and that ends up playing a hand i a weird way i normally wouldn't have done.
Sometimes I'm steaming. I can loose AA against KK perflop, or anaything similar, without a problem. But if I donk my stack off by playing without thinking it affects my mood. Certainly if it happens more than once a day.

Within 2 weeks I'm forced to take a break on poker (move to India for 5 months). I hope i'll find new energy to conquer NL50 SH at the beginning of september.

For now, I'll bonuswhore some more.
