Hi aceontheriver,

Both of the above are good. The 'SUM' icon referred to is the symbol at the top right of the excel sheet; it looks like a big capital 'E'.

Step 1: highlight the numbers you want to sum up

Step 2: click icon on the top righ corner

Step 3: Voila!

I know I suck at this, but hopefully this will help! Also, write the formula =SUM(A1:A4) works too and it's faster.

Alternative method, may be useful for some other situation.

=a1+a2+a3+a4

You can also include subtractions and throw in brackets with * and / (multiply and divide).
