So this is the begining, by which I have planted my seed and will grow as a poker player and lead a balanced life.

I have doddled around with poker for a few years now, not really committing to it. So I have been a recreational player with some problematic mindset issues which has cost me more than it should have done. However now my mindset is clear.

My main game is HU SNG. This area of poker I will develop to the max.

      Year 2012

I feel its about time I actually make something of myself and break the mould. I have been having too much fun and relaxation the past few years and have just about scraped by eg in education. Now I have realised (about time) that I really need to pull my finger out my *** and introduce myself to the WORLD.

      "What have you done today?"

Time, Dedication, Volume, Study, Diet, Fitness, Balance, Composure, Focus, Reflection, Mindset....

      So now I need some goals;

:diamond: 110 hours of play a month
:diamond: 50 hours of Poker Awesomeness learning
      :diamond: Diet
:diamond:P ress Up Challenge( leading up to 100 at once!!!)
      :diamond: 25km a week running
:diamond: 25 hours of Spanish Study
      Crush Life :D

      Rolling the dice...

This magic number, 17 is the Key :D .

17 is such a good number that the Aztecs often sacrificed hundreds of human lives as an homage to its power.

Staying on the 17th floor at a hotel is known to increase your chances of having a random sexual encounter with a beautiful female by roughly 35%.

Sitting in the 17th row in an airplane makes it 83% less likely to crash. Some religions, including Buddhism, have begun to worship 17 as a God.

Hitting 17 during a session of live roulette has been considered by many experts to be Man's only true way to communicate with God.

Yes Im a bit of a degen. :)

      The simple BRM that I will follow for HU SNG turbos is as follows;

      1.50 10buyins
      3.50 10
      7.00 10
      15 25
      30 50
      60 50

and finally lets ship it :s_biggrin: peace

      wow nice :)
I have started to play HU sngs too. the one thing I cant agree is your BRM.. I would use a bit tighter one. for following reasions:
      1) you might not be able to move down every singe time, because you said that you are a bit of degen
      2) Donno about you anything, but your mindset could not be ready for swings, especially in turbos. Since its the only money that you have in poker at the moment and you have so high expectations and every singe loose will get you down a bit, and if your BRM is so low, it can be disaster.
      3) I might a bit older than you (turning 23 in 5th of January) and I kinda start to feel that I need to be more safe than I was feeling half a year ago. But I dont think like its a good idea, to play with that kind of agro BRM in turbos

Anyhow.. GL at your journey. It will be swingy for sure, so a lot of fun for you. :)

Obviously I had to return the visit, so I'm here :D

You didn't write (or I didn't read closely enough) where you're from, we might organize some kids exchange program :D

About BRM... turbos are really soft on all the limits I've played (15s are my current and highest level). They are even not that swingy. If you're disciplined enough about moving down, 10BIs are OK imo. But if you tend to tilt, I'd recommend a bit stricter BRM.

Oh and for mindset, get Jared Tendler's "Mental game of poker", easily the best book I've ever read.

      Will follow, good luck :)

      Cheers for all the comments;

I am from the UK and with regards to tennis coaching I am just doing private work with lots of nice ladies :D . I was involved with a large tennis club but I left for Uni, maybe we could arrange something in the summer when I am back from Uni working there again. Or mention it to other coaches at an academy near me. Very good idea btw.

Regarding my BRM, I feel my mindset and edge so far is good enough for this slightly aggressive approach and will move down with no problem if variances pops in.

I am currently 3/4 through Jared's Book and I feel it is one of the best things anyone can do for their poker career is read that.

      Peace :s_biggrin:

Just reacheed a 100 sngs making good progress definitly down to the learning I am putting in and its nice to see it pay off. (Need more volume daily though).

Before I started this blog I managed to bink a 1$ 180 hyper then final table another out of 2 attempts (godmode FTW) so my roll bounced a little bit so jumped from the 1.50s to 3.50s ran good there and currently dipping into the 7s.

      Anyway STUDY STUDY STUDY :P

Fitness side of life, went for run managed 2.5km no probs and have a footy match tonight (c'mon the dragons).

Obvs running well but making +EV decisions

Loving the fresh start to 2012, working very hard

Amazing film very inspirational, Give this a watch

I can't recommend it enough, seen it twice now and its just so empowering amazing story.

      STUDY STUDY STUDY

I am aiming to be much less results orientated this month, and need to be thinking more on decisions making sure they are +EV as possible, so I feel my concentration trails off during the longer sessions.

HU poker is tiring its not like grinding fullring or even SH its relentless and I love it everyhand counts, just need to keep the focus.

Had a good day depsite the ridiculous weather were having atm, 69mph winds (was not fun running in that) not to mention a few hail stones swirling around.

Got some good volume in today and watched a few vids which I then implemented into my game ah yea.

I love it when the guy your beating over and over rematches and keeps rematching on epic tilt so good open shoving 75bb with any 2.

      STUDY STUDY STUDY

      Just a little checkin,

Volume is good, I have switched from stars to an ipoker skin for a rakeback deal which is not affiliated with pokerstrategy :( (sorry)

So I am on the $5s warming up hoping to shoot the $10s in the next few days, just getting used to the software and well the fishier standard.

Goals wise all on track, nailed a 5.5k run today despite the blowy conditions. Press Ups are buzzing and 2012 generally feels good, well maybe because I am actually doing something with myself :D .

I am having a bit of trouble with one goal. The Diet.

I do have a love for food which is quite hard to tame, I indulged in a very delicious cheese board tonight along with 3 other courses. Which kinda cancels out all the press ups and running in one go :f_biggrin: .

Anyway back to the grind, and study study study

just chilling been on a night out, first night back after xmas, club was soo packed cba with it in the end so got back allright. :P

Now im back at uni im looking to play a little bit more live poker since there is a casino in town

(must stay away from black jack and roulette ffs!)

SO SOFT some real idiots sit down, plus some decent regs who love to boast about results (muppets) anyway its full ring cash 100nl and also 200nl depending on how many peeps are there.

Unfortunatley I only have a min of 2 buyins of 100nl or I might take the shorstack approach being £40 quid buyin.

I cant exagerate enough how soft live poker is!

I have played a few sessions before and always made a few buyins profit (variance in my favour of course) :D

So this term I will take 2 buyins of 100nl and see where it takes me,

Online however I made a small mistake, the site i recently joined for some stupid reason can't connect onto my uni network so I am pretty f***ed untill I get home because 3/4 of my bankroll was on there for some bonus whoring so that sucks but oh well.( my instinct told me the uni connection wont like the software but oh well, the bonus was too good with rakeback.)

Of course stars works perfectly but 888, ipoker and microgaming cant connect for some reason bit of a joke.

      STUDY STUDY STUDY

      So much txt I apologise,

Im back to building on 3.50s on stars took a few shots at 7s ran cold so rebuilding atm although I was comfortable on my ipoker site on the 10s so soft loved every game on there it was ridic.

Back to STUDY STUDY STUDY, I am on the plan with all the goals.

I love getting everything out, so much txt OMG, anyway its always good to critically reflect on everything! :s_cool:

2012 everything is going to change, STUDY STUDY STUDY
      :f_cool:

      Need to work harder still,

If you ever want anything you have to make it happen! You (me) have to work as hard as you possibibly can then work even HARDER, that is my attitide right now!

I love the quote " what have you done today?" because if I have wasted a day watching some film or sleeping in or doing fall, I am starting to feel like its such a complete waste.

      Much Love PS

maybe a drunk post at least im not playing poker now :baby:
      Will strive even harder

so much txt sorry, if by chance you have read all of it I hope you can see my point of view, ( I am a touch too lazy unitll now) So I hope you can question yourself and push yourself.

      Much love PS community

Yea its all about the early am epiphany :s_biggrin:

      Let the seriousness begin :s_o:
