Hey, I've just signed up using my Visa Debit, All has gone fine.

They now want me to Email/Fax them the Front & Back of my Card, Why?

I understand some sites do it for security, but what does this prove? It doesn't prove im 18+ as its a Debit Card. As for the information on it, I've sent them this already, through my deposit? It doesn't make any sense.

Has everyone had this? Its safe? Seems fishy to me. Probably not, but I'd rather me sure ;)

Also, they just phoned me to make sure I do it within a week.

      Hi Matt,

This is pretty standard coming from any poker room to be honest. Send in the documents as soon as you can and get over with. Its the best advise I can give you on this subject.

This is also done not only for their but your security too. :)

      Yes very standard.

Can be annoying for sure, but it is done with your own security in mind.

Hopefully you get sorted soon Matt.

      Best regards,
      Gary

I've had the same message, why on earth do they need to see copies of the card, especially the back, i've never been asked for this before from anyone and have used online poker/casino sites for 12 years.

      hello

i had exactly the same and spent ages arguing with them about it, they even sent me an email asking for the same. they will eventually tell you to leave out the middle 8 digits of your card no. and blank out the back 3 security no. did u know that unless you put in a £$100 you will be limited to playing 5/10 cents penny games and will never reach your bonus. if i was u i would try and get your money back out, might have a bit of a wait though. i asked p/s for help and even emailed the founder of ipoker but got a sorry we cant help you off p/s and nothing off ipoker. william hill have givem me no problems and even payed out after a couple of days and you can get the bonus wiyhout any trouble

Something just popped out from my head, they are asking us to send in documents, do what they will etc, its time for us to ask them for documents, poker rooms think they can handle every player like trash, stealing money, accusing them for somethings they have done etc etc..

This will be the end for Online Poker imo, in about 2 years.

      Hi Guys,

I'm sorry if I've offended any of you, its not my intention obviously.

All I know is that poker rooms do have the rights to ask for your identification documents or VISA in fact (at least many of them). When you sign up, you also agree to their T&C's.

You can read Poker770's here. It does mention about ID's but I didn't find the one for VISA.

I suggest you point them to their own T&C and let them know that you willing to send in your ID copy but not VISA as you're not obliged by their T&C's. Unless I've missed something.

I will also require information about this and post it here when I received a reply.

      Hope this helps
      Ingrid

ps: I worked for a poker room previously and we also used to ask users to send in their VISA copy as a proof of identity and it should be no problem if you black out the digits.
