i think the way i played this hand was probably one of my worst options
checking the flop, calling the turn and not going to showdown seems to be burning money against agro opponent
i think my better option was to cbet flop and give up if called or raised

Agreed. C-bet is either gonna take it down right there or you are done firing when called and looking for a cheap showdown. With $0.70 in the pot, a bet of about $0.58 would do it. It's enough to cause draws and weaker pairs to consider folding the flop, and most players trapping with an A will elect to raise you to protect against a draw. Also checking behind hoping to hit a set is bad since you gain no info of where u stand on the turn, and with only the T of spades as a safe card, you're drawing pretty thin to any chance of improving. Take the initiative on the flop to follow through with another bet and give up if you're called or raised.

      Hello billesmith1,

Welcome to the NL Hand Evaluation Forum! Hopefully we will see more hands from you in the future. I hope that with our help you can improve your play and as well move up the limits. We will be waiting for the next hands and till that good luck on tables!

Rather CB the flop yourself and might even protect from some kind of draws or overcards. Calling the turn & folding the river doesn't make sense. :( Rather fold right on turn.

      Best Regards.
