I have decided to give this a try today and i am doing pretty good at the moment.. Doing it on NL 100

      My question is:

I am on the Button with 4 :diamond: 4  with stack of $18

now 4 people have gone all in before it came to my turn..

Pot is $300 + would it be ok if i also called with my hand?

Pot of $300 is irrelevant as you can't win most of it. So basically you need about a 20% chance of winning. It's close. Up to you.

I don't play SSS and don't know what hands the charts tell you to play. My guess is your way behind with 44. In this position I personally wouldn't be playing anythin less than KK. Don't know how other people see it but thats my view.

yup i dont play sss i play NL 50 BSS but decided to give it a try...

my point is the pot stands at $300+ and I need to invest $18 to quadriple up..

Yes i most likely up against AA - KK - QQ - JJ - even TT but i still can hit my Set also..

      just a thought..

oh yea i did fold the hand by the way.. but i just wanted to see how the experts see this situation..

      Hey Roya1flush,

Ill try to answer this mathematically ;)

You would have to call 18$ for a chance to win 72$. Thats 1:4 pot odds. You have around 13-14% equity since you are only winning this hand if you hit a set.

If 14% of the time you win 72$ and 86% of the time you are losing 18$ then:

      10,08 - 15,48 = - 5,30$

So you lose ~5$ everytime you call here.

      Best regards,

I think you have a better than 14% chance of making a set.

      I'm wrong.

Yes you do. But since there will also be pocket pairs among the opponents they also have chances to hit sets.

I basically used Equilator to see his equity vs a mixture of higher pockets and random cards which results in about 14%
