HI :) my name is martin, im 27 years old and comming from Denmark. i have been playing poker in about 3 years (only online) i got inspired because my big brother played it so tried to start out myself playing online and been in love with the game since i started even tho i lose.. lol.
im a micro stakes player. my limits in cash games are: 0.02/0.04 up to 0.05-0.10 <-- i guess that limit is to high but i can get bored of the very low ones since i get frustrated when not winning or thinking i cant win enough. tournaments i play $1-$10, unless i have won a bigger one through a sat.

im only playing no limit holdem btw :)

Question 1: What is your motivation for playing poker?

my motivation is to be a better player and improve my game in the areas where i struggle , bankroll increasing as well but that should come as my game improve i hope :)

Question 2: What are your weaknesses when playing poker? (What are the mistakes you know you are making during your games? Are you playing while you're tired? Are you tilting easily? Want to see the showdown too much? Write down as many as you think are affecting you.)

oh weakness when playing poker is im being way to passive when limits goes up (tournament play). --> both tourney and cash games: and bit scared also because , in many situations dont know exactly what to do or if my hand dosent hit any, being able to read players and put them on ranges picking the right spots to make a move, like bluffs, steals and such my maths sucks as well tbh. i guess its in most areas or? i know people say best to do is: play the player not the cards but that i do not have succes with, some times im able to but certainly most of times not.

i have watched videos and readed articles and tried following them but dosent seem to work that well for me when i try.

Question 3: What does it mean to play tight aggressive? (Describe in your own words what playing tight aggressive is and why does it work.)

tight agressive play - being selective with what hands you play and play them agressive when you get the specific hands. it works because you putting the other players in a hard situation and making constant pressure on them with your play, it makes hard for the players guessing you and most likely you end up winning and making them to fold.

hope i dont the steps correct. not sure if i got it right tho and may be some messy reading for you. but hope it can be understood.

Welcome to the Course and Best of Luck. Good job! Homework #1 Done!

With time you will get better, as you may feel not that confident in your game right now that doesn't mean you wont feel it ever. With analyzing more hands, posting hands and talking with others about the hands, watching videos, reading articles and doing everything for the poker will make you only stronger. You will be more experiences with time and more confident in your game. :) You will start to raise more hands and play them more aggressively but of course that will take some time till you get there.

Most of the weakness you wrote can easily be fixed by posting hands (analyzing your session). We will start writing feedback to your play. Usually negative feedback will put you into thinking phase and trying to fix all those leaks. It's almost the same as you lose money, you will remember it more than winning part. By this situation it's gonna be that negative feedback you gonna remember and try to avoid them next time.

What about tilt? Do you adjust something against it? For example:
Easiest way to fight against tilt is to set up stop-loss technique. Which means if you for example have lost more than 3BIs for a session then you just stop the session for some time. The BI amount is set up from your own results. Some may put it higher, some lower. Also after the stop you can spend some time with evaluation part to become better.

Tight style is usually called playing selected hands. Like following the Starting Hand Chart. Aggressive should be also pretty clear that already the word says how you should be playing. But the problem playing aggressively is that you have to watch that you don't play too aggressive. Find good spots, find good targets. About The tight-aggressive strategy you can read in this article: "What is the Big Stack Strategy?"

Hopefully you will enjoy the Course.
