Curious about my bet sizing on this one :)

My only concern is my Flop bet, A Dangerous board, so I should be betting $2.00, possibly $2.10?

      UTG: $15.16 (151.6 bb)
      MP: $10.66 (106.6 bb)
      CO: $5.29 (52.9 bb)
      BTN: $10 (100 bb)
      Hero (SB): $29.79 (297.9 bb)
      BB: $11.69 (116.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K K
UTG raises to $0.30, 3 folds, Hero raises to $1.10, BB folds, UTG calls $0.80

      Flop: ($2.30) 3 Q 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.85, UTG calls $1.85

      Turn: ($6) 2 (2 players)
      Hero bets $4.40, UTG folds

      Results: $6 pot ($0.27 rake)
      Final Board: 3 Q 9 2
UTG mucked and lost (-$2.95 net)
      Hero mucked K K and won $5.73 ($2.78 net)

Maybe you can make the bet potsize but this size looks fine for me too. Wouldn't played it very differently. Looks like villain has a draw here and missed it on the turn.

What if the turn was a spades or an other scared card? Should you check it then or just bet? If you check then you must fold imo after a bet on the turn.

      Hi MattDenness,

well we can bet here on flop around 2$ but i think your 80% of the pot bet is also good.

Of course it depends on that what kind of your opponent is. Reg would probably not call here JT. A tighter one would not even open with JT from UTG and since he is quite deep he probably called for a set value or maybe AK but i don't see many weaker hand in his calling range. So in that case we bet of course to maximize value and board it is not that dangerous.

But if UTG is fish and calling 3bets with suited connectors and so on then this flop is extremely dangerous and in that case of course you have to protect your hand with betting more to make him calling with bad odds.

Lets wait also on our pro judge opinion :f_biggrin:

      Hello MattDenness,

Depends a lot on the opponent overall but most likely I tend to Bet a bit bigger if he is really loose opponent. :) Also plus the board is kind of drawy.

      Best Regards.
