Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

      SB: $10.67 (106.7 bb) 50/8/4.6/6.7/33/53
      BB: $11.70 (117 bb)
      MP: $10 (100 bb)
      Hero (CO): $11.68 (116.8 bb) 23/14/1.0/5.3/44/117
      BTN: $10 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q J
MP folds, Hero raises to $0.40, BTN folds, SB calls $0.35, BB folds

      Flop: ($0.90) 3 3 Q (2 players)
SB bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40

      Turn: ($1.70) 3 (2 players)
SB bets $0.50, Hero raises to $2.20, SB calls $1.70

By Turn I was sure that I was ahead. Had the best possible full house, only AA,KK would beat me. So I went ahead and raised for value

      River: ($6.10) 3 (2 players)
SB bets $0.60, Hero calls $0.60

Stupid crappy river, any A or K would beat me now and I didn't know where I was with this hand. So I decided to just call a very small bet by him. There's no way I was folding to this stupid bet. Should I have raised such a weak bet or just called like I did since any A or K had me now.

By the time the river rolls around you should be betting it up big time to scare away Ax holdings and even Kx holdings or give it up. Calling is the worst option as you beat virtually nothing except those low to mid pocket pairs (which as I think about it, is a decent portion of his range). A fold is tough here because it is so cheap and gives lots of information about how he plays.

Sorry I don't quite understand what you said. Are yo saying that I should have raised big before the river itself to make Ax and Kx hands fold or are you saying that I should have raised big on the river to make Ax and Kx hands fold?

I did raise him on the turn are you saying hould have raised bigger?

On the river he's definitely not folding Ax since they are the best hand. So I don't see any point in trying to make Ax or Kx hands fold since they'll never fold in this spot.

      Hello maheepsangari,

Doubt that we can do much on the river there, wouldn't fold either for the given odds.

But as played you could even raise it right on the flop and protect your hand vs those small block-bets. Especially vs such a loose opponent.

      Best Regards.
