Hello, I know, that this hand shouldn't be played from early position but, I have other questions here.

Party, $0.02/$0.04 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 8 Players

      BTN: $3.34 (83.5 bb)
      BB: $2.04 (51 bb)
      Hero (MP1): $4 (100 bb)
      MP3: $3.76 (94 bb)
      MP2: $6.55 (163.8 bb)
      UTG+2: $2.37 (59.3 bb)
      SB: $1.96 (49 bb)
      CO: $5.08 (127 bb)

      Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K J
UTG+2 folds, Hero calls $0.04, 3 folds, BTN calls $0.04, SB completes, BB checks

      Flop: ($0.16) J 4 J (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $0.12, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.12

      Turn: ($0.40) J (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.08, Hero raises to $0.24, BTN calls $0.16

      River: ($0.88) A (2 players)
Hero bets $0.42, BTN calls $0.42

      Results: $1.72 pot ($0.08 rake)
      Final Board: J 4 J J A
BTN mucked A 4 and lost (-$0.82 net)
      Hero showed K J and won $1.64 ($0.82 net)

My question is: how should I extract more value from my nuts here? Opp is a really poor player, but my play here is also poor. River shove? But i decided to go for value bet only, because if he didn't have an ace, which was possible, this would look way too strong and no 4x, or small pocket pairs would call imo.

Limping pf wrong.Although pokerstrategy advice for novice players to limp some hands like pocket pairs etc as you go up the steps you will see that preflop you take 3 actions :

      1)raise
      2)call a raise
      3)reraise

As played.I would bet the flop bet the turn and check raise the river. If the opponent especially has a big AF this is the perfect board to do it.If he hits sth like an ace or have a pocket pair i think most of the times he would bet the river and you could shove there.I don't think he would give up an A there.

Check this video to see what i mean. One of my favourite hands ever.

      IMO always ;)

      Hello ryciaga,

Preflop: Limping is very bad here. From MP1 just fold it.

      As played
Postflop: Most likely I would start betting myself the flop smallish to build up the pot. But otherwise as played shove the river. If he has the Ax there he is definitely going to Call you. :)

      Best Regards.
