For centuries gambling business had been controlled by Mafia and other organisations of criminal nature. I'm sure that online poker business is not an exception. So keep in mind that making as much money as possible will always be priority of all poker rooms without exception and currency conversion is just another way how they make profit. You can call yourself poker player, poker pro or sportsman but remember that you are not marching on the path of righteous. You are in the dodgy area and just accept such thing as necessary expenses of this trade...

The conversion rates on Party network are TERRIBLE!! I've had my Party account in $ and I deposited € and the difference when you deposit is obvious. I didn't mind when I was depositing small amounts, but when you deposit a bit more it really shows. I have about 100$ left in my Party account, but I'm afraid to withdraw because of those conversion rates. Wonder what I'll do if I win a ton of money? :f_biggrin: So I made my WPT account in € and haven't had problems so far. Deposits went through alright, haven't made a withdrawal yet, but it should be alright. So, the moral of the story is: just make a deposit in the currency in which you're depositing.

But if you have EUR account and if you buy into tourneys / cash game tables that are in $ then there is your conversion anyways. Correct?

Ok, I went and checked for fun and if I deposit 100€ on Party, I get 130$, but if I withdraw 130$ I get 95€. WTF? Didn't go and actually try it, real numbers may differentiate a little. Probably not in my favor. The numbers on WPT are ok.

Yes, by far the best way is to keep all of your e-wallets and poker accounts in the currency that you play in. Then you only have the hit once, when you deposit and withdrawal from your e-wallet.

There's never a way to get away from currency transaction fees so the best option is to do it as few times as possible. Doing it whenever you buy in or reload at a table is by far the worst.

Aren't those conversions made at the same rates? I know they are on Ipoker, not sure for Party. Where can I check on this?

Maybe a bit out of topic but I'm using only Moneybookers to transfer money between poker rooms and to withdraw cash. Also all accounts/poker rooms are running in $ as my Moneybookers account, so in the end there is only 1 charge ever.

ya, the best way is to keep all accounts in single currency otherwise these poker-rooms and e-wallets will take around 2-4% each time you make a transaction (i.e 4-8% if you deposit and withdraw).

I know for sure that iPoker keeps any fractional amounts of money. If you have auto top-up enabled this can actually add up pretty quickly. Obviously at high limits this becomes a non-issue but do you really want to have to decide if you should top up in order to maximize your poker EV or wait to top up later to minimize your currency exchange loss?

This is someone you've accepted in their Terms and Conditions when joining the room, and they're not exactly the only room to apply such a fee.

      Regards,

Your not seriously defending such a fee? And i bet that rule is very easy to.find too right? Come on now charging fees like that is just sad

Other people may have had good times with this company but by far this is the worst customer expereince I ever had.. I hardly played any games a few cashes.and still jus from depositing and withdrawing lost a little over twenty bones

      Good luck to everyone else
