All players have approximately a full stack
apart from the BB who is a ss

sometimes I'm unsure what hands to complete profitably in the sb when I'm getting good odds

& would it make a difference if the stacks were smaller?
      whats your range here?

I would fold, you have to flop trips or two pair or boat to win the hand and even then you don´t get action or if you do you´re often behind.
I would call here with suited cards, connectors, pp-s, some KQJT cards.

Then it is probably fine, but I like to show what could happen if you complete even not so bad offsuit hand. This is one hand that I played today in multiway pot:
Full Tilt Poker, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
      LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

      Hero (SB): $103.95
      BB: $90.45
      UTG: $19.25
      MP: $49.25
      CO: $61.35
      BTN: $47.55

      Pre-Flop: K:club: 8:heart: dealt to Hero (SB)
UTG calls $0.50, MP calls $0.50, CO folds, BTN calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.25, BB checks

      Flop: ($2.50) 2:spade: 8:diamond: 2:heart: (5 Players)
Hero bets $2.50, BB folds, UTG calls $2.50, 2 folds

      Turn: ($7.50) J:diamond: (2 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $4, Hero raises to $100.95 and is All-In, UTG calls $12.25 and is All-In

      River: ($40) 6:heart: (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Basically dream flop for K8:) Hard to believe that someone would better hand, so I make bet pot/fold on the flop and then decides to go c/rai, since the other player was quite shortstack. He was completely unknown and I believe that I probably played that hand quite fine- my only mistake was completing pf with K8, getting 9:1. It isn´t about that 0,5BB (or in my case 0,25$), but the rest of the money that you could loose if you hit, but it isn´t good enough to win the hand. Flopping fullhouse and quads almost never happen, so you´re often some difficult situation where you don´t know if your hand was fine or not. Villain showed AA:)
