While I discovered StarCraft Broodwar back in 2008, it seems people found online poker.
And while I spent my time laddering, it seems they've earned their millions.

But I cought up to them now; I discovered poker in 2012!
I'm so quick I'll hear about Justice Beaver in 2014 and Kony in 2015.

Seriously, though, I started playing Zynga-facebook-poker for fun in 2011 and after a while decided to test my wits against poker's best.. on micros.

So far I'm bad and I'm running bad, not terribad, but pretty awful still.
I'll do better though, not great, but decent enough to cash out a little.

I spend most of my time on PokerStrategy reading/watching articles, lurking random forums, or posting in Poker770 threads.
I've made a spreadsheet with rakeback calculations for Poker770.

You can say a slow hello.

Hey, I bet you also want to see my graph:

      Hi MMPokerNab,

Nice Introduction! Made me giggle :)

Shame about that graph, maybe our NL Beginners Course can help you out? Along with our videos, free coaching and articles - the course is an excellent way of adding to your skill set. Definitely worth considering imo :)

      Wishing you every success,
      Gary

      ^^ Hi.

Oh, the NL Beginners Course, yes.. I have noticed that and read about it.
Thought about enrolling too, but I'm still thinking about it (slowly).

Thanks for stopping by. And don't worry about the graph.
I'm actually quite happy with it, because I do feel like I'm improving.

I'm not in a hurry (lol) to move up the limits. I'll get better.

nice tail trick on the graph there :D

i'd definitely recommend the NL beginners course. i had a breaking even graph on fulltilt NL2, then i started and began to post hands for evaluation and stuff... and magic :f_eek:
i quickly was already winning at NL5 rush (probably, just 10-15k sample or something i can't remember) but... well we all know what happened to fulltilt right :D

in any case i got a second capital on everest, finished the course, took a break, then now i'm rebuilding :f_biggrin: it's NL5 again...

:f_biggrin: Haha, the tail.. yes, you have a good eye. Maybe two even!
      How is your depth perception?

Whoa NL5, that's crazy high for me! :f_grin:
Grats on being able to beat it.

Veriz (I think is his username) who helps out at the hand evaluation forums is awesome, I've starting posting there some hands that trouble me.

I find it interesting how friendly most people are on these forums.. yet when I open poker client I have the chat turned off, the images blocked - I become a weird multi-tabling machine that only wins/loses money against other faceless machines.

It's exciting and "cyber cool", but strange.
I can't shake off the feeling that it is strange.

      Well, I'm having fun.

I started playing NL4 today, in order to participate in Poker770's "cash point" promotion, but also to try it out since I do have the suggested BR.
It actually went well, so I'll stick around on NL4 - unless things go terribly wrong. Yippie!

Also, I'm not a losing player anymore. ^^

Slowly but surely wins the race! :f_grin:
      Or something like that.

Poker770 has some really nice promotions, so although I'm not satisfied with how I play I'm managing to increase my BR.

I'll definetly work on my game, though.
Since I've been so productive (non-poker related) and happy today, I don't mind breaking even in the end.

      I'm talking about this: :f_grin: :f_grin:

Oh, and, I'll be gold rank on pokerstrategy tomorrow so I'll check out those vids.

So much going on and so much to be happy about. I can hardly keep up.

Okay, now that i finished my joke - thanks for stopping by you two and thanks. ^^

I've continued playing on Poker770, though my volume decreased a little. But, it's alright, I'm happy with my current level of donkey play and very happy with my BR. And I'm having fun!

As you don't know, I'm a NL cash game player - but, actually, the only reason I didn't bust my $30 (at the time) starting capital from PS is because I won $30 playing Poker770's "Steps" SNGs with my last few cents.

I have played a lot more of them since (... and only managed to get another $30 out of them). I'm extremely happy with my results, but it got me thinking about how much time these occasional tournaments I play take and how do they compare among themselves in terms of $/hour.

So I made a little script that would summarize the "tournament" games I have played so far and outline a few stats that I wanted to see.

      Total buyin: $386.94
      Total won: $437.24
      Total: $50.30
      ----------------------------------------
      Timespan: 49 days, 23:29:57
      Tournaments played: 351
Total playing time: 8 days, 7:27:48
      $/h: 0.25

this part of the output is better represented in a spreadsheet:

here's how the raw output looks: [screenshot]
23 seconds for 351 file seems a bit much.. -.-'

Of course some formats (HU Roulette for example) I only played once so that stats don't show much.. but I'm happy to see the data summarized like this and maybe once I play more different formats I could notice what seems to be the most profitable for me.

For now I just find it very interesting to look at "Average playing times" and compare it. Didn't know it takes about 30 minutes to finish a Step tourney. :f_grin: In time some more useful analysis might come up.

One small note: the script doesn't understand "tokens" so it calculates everything using token value as real money.. that's why the numbers are inflated, but the bottom line Total is correct and that's the only thing that matters to me, since I don't worry about rake from tournaments.

Does anyone think this script might be useful? :f_grin:

Thanks for reading and stopping by.
      Cu~

edit: whoopsy, forgot to link the script in case anyone is interested (of course, it's free to use and edit) [pastebin]

:f_eek: hahaha, we must? Is that an expression of affection or greed?
*paranoidly clinches the coins of his BR* :f_biggrin: surely, we'll meet. but not tonight, i don't think. i'm hoping to make it to the Mystery tourney -- /cut

hey, it's great about your two good runs in tourneys yesterday. grats, keep it up.

also, just to be sure 3k GPD are.. "$3,000 GP Speed R/A" tourneys? *wondering what the D stands for*

edit: yeah.. i decided to go have a beer instead of playing the Mystery tourney. i'll make up for it in cash games. :)

      gl in your tourney Ingrid.

      hellooo~

it's been a long time since we last saw each other random PokerStrategy dweller. how have you been?

me? oh, you know.. same ol', same ol'. been playing NL5 speed on Poker770, since regular tables are dead (and i have no HUD, hahaha~ *sobs*)

of course i'm terribad still, but since i'm earning a few nickles here and there i'm still happy. my next goal is to go up to NL10 and stay there.
currently i'm afraid of using 10 bucks at a table. sounds way too high stakes for me.

      also, WINTER IS COMING.
      no seriously, it is, right?
      it's October already.

      Starks are always right, eventually.

take care and be nice random person from the internets!

Hey guys and girls, I'm back! :f_thumbsup:
I'm now playing nl20 on ipoker, hehe. :f_grin:

Unfortunately, I lost most of my hand histories so I won't be able to have a graph that shows the accumulated profit from every poker hand I ever played, which was something that I always wanted. It's no biggie, though. I started from PokerStrategy starting capital and now I have millions. You know what, I think I do have a graph! :f_ugly:

actual graph of my poker winnings

      Anyhoo,
in this ol' thread of mine I'll be posting some interesting hands and graphs and I'll mostly just brag how awesome I am.
      You know, typical stuff!
      Thanks for stopping by. :f_drink:
