      Hello

      I am new to this forum, and as you can see I never wrote here before. But today I had a little problem which can be resolved only w/ help from experienced users. Here is the deal:

      Very soon Tallinn will be held BPT (balticpokertour.net had some info). I am Russian but have visas and stuff to make a visit @ this series. But the problem is - I don't know is it worth it (cause Im low/micro stakes online grinder) in terms of living/flight spendings. I have no friends in Estonia, but the Russian-speaking forums saying that this series will probably have had overlay... So basically, I have no experience in estimate such series, but I know that it is new one, and perhaps would not be too popular among the players, etc. How to decide is it worth it?

      Prior to the start of the series is very little time - I crosspost this message on multiple forums, hoping to get some advice. Thanks guys.

      There's a UK flag in the top right corner for swapping languages.

      Well, it seems that with 3 starting days, and re-entry if you bust day 1A and/or 1B there's chance for double-re-entry for up to 3 entries from any wealthy enough participant.

      For the €250k guarantee, they'd need a total of 125 runners, so unless there's less than 40 entries per day, it might be unlikely to get overlay.

      As you say though, if it's a new tour it may not be all that well publicised and attendance may be lower.

      Hard to say for sure, really..

      Regards,
      Richard

      True, thanks :)

      Immo its not worth. 2k buy in main event with 250k GTD is not really attractive if no other additional plus comes with it like media attention or anything. Altho structure looks great, so u get something for the money. Just for comparison: from this money you could travel to Marbella, buy in for 1,5k to the WPT National Main event (which also wont have too many people playing, I would estimae 200-250), and if you ship it than you have a WPT titel and everything which comes with it. And chill on the beach on the rest of the time.

      250k GTD tourneys used to run from 550 euro buy in usually.

      Or for example, end of April in Vienna, Concorde Million 1 million euro gtd fro 550 euro buy in.

      Do you think that it might cause to scare away good players? I mean if solid offline reg look at the structure and potential of the tournament, which kind of disappoint, and will choose for themselves something else, while the amateurs will not be able to assess the situation properly.

      Sorry for these difficult 'theorems' and the questions, but I have so much little experience playing live.

      I guess so big tournament looks attractive for big players too :(
      Did I exaggerating, that on the tables of WPT National ME I can met ... dunno - Jungleman Dan's poker face! The point is - how much fishy can be innagural series of unnamed poker tour.

      So many thanks for your responses, guys.

      Hi folks.

      Many thanks to all of you and especially for those, who shared experience -- who knows which kind of solution I make on this series without your advices.

      So, yes, I decide to go. Right now Im pack my bags and haven't enought time to discuss, so here is the list of expenses:

      Road [both ways] = €400
      Living [7 nights @ cheap hotel] = €350
      Fun = €400

      Warm Up - €440
      Sat to ME = €220 x 2
      Big Event = €880
      Omaha freez = €220
      Knockout = €330

      Moneys for cash games = €540
      _____________________________________
      Total: €4000 [I got stacked for 50% of this total].

      ... so, wish me luck :) Hope/counting on run hot and spend time with pleasure. See you later.
