IPoker, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 4 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

      Hero (SB): $10.10 (101 bb)
      BB: $10 (100 bb)
      CO: $3 (30 bb)
      BTN: $10 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A J
CO posts BB OOP, CO raises to $0.35, BTN folds, Hero calls $0.30, BB folds

      Flop: ($0.80) 2 9 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.80, Hero folds

      Results: $0.80 pot ($0.05 rake)
      Final Board: 2 9 4
Hero mucked A J and lost (-$0.35 net)
CO mucked and won $0.75 ($0.40 net)

      Opponent: unknown

Preflop: I know nothing about my opponent, so in general, what could the best preflop choice be against his stack size? 30BBs is an awkward stack to 3Bet against. Calling, however, leads to tough OOP spots.

      Hello Avatars91,

As long he posted a blind I would just go for 3bet-for-value and go broke. :)

      Best Regards.

Had he not posted the deadblind, what would the best play be, taking into consideration the fact that he is completely unknown?

Most likely I would still 3bet rather than Call and be OOP against his stack. I mean what's the reason behind the Call? If you expect to be ahead then why didn't you fight back on such a board?

By just hoping that we will hit every time and win the pot then and make enough of money then I wouldn't even advice to play it, cause you wont play profitable by just "hoping for the hit". We also have to fight back sometimes when we just have A high or some draws.
