      Poker Stars $25.00 No Limit Hold'em - 4 players -

      BB: $49.63 - VPIP: 19, PFR: 14, 3B: 1, AF: 3.6, Hands: 292
      CO: $7.80 - VPIP: 13, PFR: 8, 3B: 6, AF: 3.5, Hands: 87
      Hero (BTN): $27.32 -
      SB: $9.90 - VPIP: 75, PFR: 13, 3B: 0, AF: 1.8, Hands: 53

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BTN with 5  6
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.75, SB calls $0.65, 1 fold

      Flop: ($1.75) 9  9 :club: 6 :spade: (2 players)
SB bets $1.75, Hero calls $1.75

      Turn: ($5.25) J :diamond: (2 players)
SB bets $7.40, Hero calls $7.40

      River: ($20.05) Q :spade: (2 players)

1.8 is pretty high for 80/11 player.

Given his bet sizing I just expect to see a very large percent of air in his range. What's your opinion on calling him down in this spot?

I think raise/calling flop or just folding is better option.
He has there air a lot of times, but he can easily improve better hand.
If you call flop then calling turn is fine

      Best regards,

      I disagree with Kaitz.

Calling the flop is 100000000000% times better than folding, especially with a blocker vs 78 and a back door flush draw. The sample size is 53 ffs!

Pre flop you should just min or 2.5x raise rather than 3x. We can make a direct profit from raising on the button vs tight blinds if we 2 or 2.5x and don't need to be that successful to make it profitable. When you start making it 3x, he has to fold alot more often and generally his ranges won't change too much, at least not enough to make it more +Ev to 3x, and if it does then we can adjust.

I just think he may also pot flop with 77/88 or better 5x hands against that we´re at quite bad shape. He doesn´t always have there 78 or random air that we should stack off every single time.

      best regards,
