      I am wondering if I should have raised more on the flop

      Don`t like your re-raise on the flop. Flop is so drary, that you could be drawing dead or have very few outs to improve.
      I would bet/call flop and fold to big river bet.
      As played I think your fold on the river was correct- can´t see what hand you can beat.

      Answer to your question: you could re-raise to 5$, but then you have to call any shove or shove turn with any card, but I think that you´re not ahead that often.

      And against aggressive players you could consider just checking behind on the turn and calling turn bet. Flop is so drawy, that you´re just too often get here c/r and you don´t know if you´re ahead or behind.
