Hey everyone, thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and make a blog for myself. :)

      About Me:

So, a little about me... My name is Luke, I'm 21 from England and have been playing poker since I turned 18 (3 years ago) but only seriouly the last 1-2 years or so. My brother also plays, he is 23 years old and started around a year after me so he is still behind slightly. :) Poker is currently my main source of income, I am grinding the micros and just about making enough to live (including rakeback). I like to go out a lot, partying, drinking with friends etc, not so much anymore though, maybe just once or twice a week. If I looked around my laptop I'd probably find a lot of funny pictures, no idea what is on here. :)

      My Poker Career:

Before I started playing Poker, I played World of Warcraft seriously which is where I found out about Athene (Chiren80), which was the reason I started to play poker. :) (I signed up my PokerStars with Chiren's referral code, I'd not even heard of PokerStrategy at this point.) :(

But anyway, because of Athene, I started off playing full ring cash games, it took me a very short time to become comfortable 24 tabling. I also played a lot of SNG's near the start, which is when I realised there is actually money to be made in poker. :) (I grinded like $300 upto $1.4k in around 3 days and cashed out $1.2k out for a new laptop lol.) I also played a lot of full ring cash games on Full Tilt with the $50 starting capital once I found out about PokerStrategy. :)

Recently I had to move house because one of my friends who I lived with kinda screwed us over with the rent, it's a long story. :) I am now living at my Grandparent's house with my brother, they have a really unreliable internet connection here so we decided to go back to playing cash games to make sure that we don't disconnect and lose our BR's. :) We both only recently got onto 6max where I am currently playing NL10/16 and taking shots at NL25 (which has been going badly for a while. :) ) My brother is playing NL5/10.

      Graphs:

Here are a few of the graphs that I have on this laptop...

      NL2:

      NL5:

      NL10:

      NL16:

      MTT/SNG's:

      SharkScope:

      2012 Goals:

      [ ] Reach Supernova
      [ ] Get two $1,6k bonuses
[ ] Atleast breakeven at NL25 and start taking shots at NL50
[ ] Get my own house/flat with my brother
      [ ] Buy a new monitor/mouse
      [ ] Play 200k hands each month
      [ ] Play 2 million hands in 2012
[ ] Learn to play live poker!
[ ] Win a live MTT at the local casino ;)
[ ] Spend some time learning PLO

Me and my brother both take poker very seriously, we play many many hours each day, and when we are not playing we are working on our game (or eating/sleeping). We often play really long sessions of 20+ hours when we are running good.

I'll post graphs/hands etc. regularly so keep checking back. :) If anyone has any questions, advice or anything then let me know. :) My skype is lukemc15 feel free to add. Below is a couple of songs that I am into at the moment. :) Enjoy, Take care!

      Regards,

      - Luke

Hello Luke welcome to the blog section

      Btw nice graphs. :f_biggrin:

      24 tabling 6max is a bit crazy. :s_cool:

But i tried myself once 8tabling Zoom(that's like 24SH tables+) , 4 Full ring tables, and 4 Short handed tables. At the end of session felt like i made some profit, but actualy i was breaking even all the time. Speed was incredible you coudn't do anything else, i had to click all the time :s_o: Took down 2,5k hands in one hour  . Decided it's bit too much so i decided, to concentrate more on game flow, opponent images, and i tried to have more deep reads on my opponent hands intead of auto boting 8 tables of zoom. Well anyways good luck on crushing NL25! Will be following you!

      Best regards Tilt

Yeh, I agree with you, I played 6 ZOOM tables not so long ago and it was incredibly fast, didn't even need the other 2. But yeh, it's just that as soon as I started playing I was learning to play as many tables as possible, 24 full ring is pretty easy for me now and I tend to get a bit bored sometimes lol. I'm playing 17 6max atm, that's the most I can play really because of my small monitors. :( I used to play 30-50 tables when playing SNG's... :P

Thanks bro! Good luck to you too! :)

      Hey there!

First of all, welcome to our blogging section! Nice solid goals set up there, but we'll get back to that in later posts!

When creating your signature, when you're in the editor, on the bottom left corner, if you open the "Options" menu, the Deactivate BBcode in this signature field will be checked by default, if you un-check that box your signature should work fine with the above entry from your post!

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

      Regards,
      Richard

      Glad I could help!

Do you have any goals more short term based rather than the big 2012 overall goals and monthly volume?

Well actually, my goal is to get Supernova by the end of August, get the $4k bonus by the end of September, then by Early/Mid-November I am hoping to get a place near a friend in Iasi, Romania.

For June I am hoping to become atleast breakeven for NL25, (I've been playing NL25 for a while, been slightly losing but been playing better recently.) Then by the end of the year I want to be playing NL50 and looking at moving up to NL100 for the start of 2013.

Also, I went to the nearest casino to me (about 30 minute drive) on Thursday and then again Saturday to check what games they were playing to work on my live game, both nights I was too late for the MTT and the only cash games they ran was 1/2 which was a bit high for me as I usually play NL25 and less online.

I have a quick question for anyone out there... What BRM would you suggest when playing 18 6 max tables? I am currently using 30 BIs, but I am doing a lot of moving up/down, and when I do move up I am not playing all 18 tables of the that stake, just the fishy ones of NL10/16/25, is that okay? Is that bad?

Gonna try shotstacking full ring for a few days, see if I can cope with the swings then. :P Is there any things I need to know about shotstacking before I start? Setmining? Opening pocket pairs? BRM?

      Thanks.

The last 3k hands or so is 25 and 16NL. But yeh, the rest is 10/16 and it's all regular tables, I'm not a fan of zoom. :)

I am personally a huge fan of Zoom..

But it has a lot of downsides, like not being able to tableselect, you can't exploit weak players the same way and all that..

One of the upsides that appeals a lot to me is the ability to play short/fast sessions a lot easier without first waiting for blinds, then waiting for your turn, and then sitting out blinds and all that..

Hard to squeeze in a 15-20 min session on normal tables with table selection and all that.

Yeah, it's nice I play zoom from time to time when I have 20 minutes spare or so. But I have HM1 and none of my zoom is imported and I don't really want to upgrade to HM2 (don't like the look of it) so I just try stay away from zoom. :)

I seem to just always run bad in zoom lol, many KK vs AA and AA/KK vs flopped sets. :)

I'm pretty sure HM1 is supposed to work well with zoom now.

One of our mods is playing pretty much exclusively zoom and using HM1..
