I either ran out of nerve or smartened up.
      still not sure which.

I guess if I'm going to fold the river, I should have just folded on the flop.

I know you should always "have a plan" for a hand, but I guess when my plan of flopping the nut flush (or nut flush draw) failed I was not sure what to do.
I had a draw to the nut straight, but that did not impress me much.
and I was worried that I had kicker problems by the time the river rolled around.

      Hello William340,

Overall as you played this way then I'd rather Bet myself for value on the river. :) ~$0,68 myself cause they show weakness with the Check behind. Also avoids him betting big on the river.

      Best Regards.

is there a different line you would have taken pre-flop or on the flop?
      3B pre-flop ?
or call preflop but donk on the flop?

I considered bet/fold on the river, but by then, I just wanted to get to showdown.

which I did not get to do anyway.

Nope, we can easily play such a hand even in multiway pots by Calling.
