hey everyone! i am new to the forum and decided to start a blog so that i can track my results, get motivation to play better, more and -most important- try to get better by any recommendations, advice and every kind of help.

let's start with a brief introduction:

      :spade: about me :spade:

My name is Tasos, i am 21 right now and study greek literature Thessaloniki,Greece. i m on 4th and last year and although i have only half of my classes passed i hope i get over it some time in future! regarding my leisure time i like hanging out when possible but when not everything is about poker(sometimes movies or sport matches too :D )..

      poker history

i started playing about 3-4 years ago when graduated from high school. it was a friend of mine who heard about it first, then showed it to the rest of the "team" and we all started playing just for fun. for some strange reason i found it really interesting as well as challenging so thought about it more seriously as a game that i could win money from without even having learned the basics lol :D
then one day i decided to deposit into pokerstars for the very 1st time - on summer of 2009..ok i was playing and having fun but of course didn't take that seriously at all until i got a great result-regarding my experience and skill-. i got 4th at a sunday major(now known as sunday storm) for a sum of 9K$ in total. this would be great if won nowadays as i now know about bankroll management and all this stuff but then, it was just a firework that made my student life far better. i spent the majority of it on fun stuff such as vacations, bike purchase etc.
so now all these are gone. all this time i ve been playing of course but inconsistently and mainly for the pleasure, although i took some shots to majors but nothing special came. i ve watched many coaching videos all this time and also read some interesting articles so i finally consider myself a bit xperienced(after playing many hands at several poker sites too) but still have a lot to learn so please help me wherever possible!

:diamond: my goals-short and long term- :diamond:

      1) my longest term goal would be to become a poker professional, earning a stable amount of money so that i wouldn't need to work elsewhere at all.but this-considering my achievements so far- is not even close

      2) i ll try to read every book and watch coaching videos suggested by you my friends related with mtts and sngs as i m not going to deal with cash right now.

      3) i didn't mention that before so i ll do it right now. i will be mostly playing turbo multi table sngs and (less)mtts.depending on my bankroll swings i will change gears to higher/lower buy ins.the most important short term goal is to beat the lower levels so that i can move up to the higher and get stable profit and more (vip and other)bonuses as well.

So, starting with 340 euros(all i have as a br in stars right now) and playing a mix of the 90man 1$,180man hyper 1$, 45man 1.5$, 180man 2.5$ and 45man 3.5$. i m a multitabler so there will be 15-25 total on every active session. depending on the results i will mix the numbers of each one in sessions.
regarding mtts i have a low limit of 50 buy ins for entering in any of them.
i will be playing by the name royalduck4 for anyone who would like to follow.
      i am using holdem manager 2 as well as tableninja(so please don't write at tour's chat i can't see that :D )

      4) last goal is to renew the blog as often as possible.i hope my studies and fun time plans won't affect this one but i am very optimistic about it.

i had a lot more in my mind but i can't write any more at just my 1st post.it's already too big to be good  anyway thanx for reading that and i hope you will follow me on my attempt to become a pro :D please don't hesitate to ask whatever you want, make your own observations or whatever. i'll be glad to get feedback by older members skilled and xperienced or not! it would be an extra motive for me to keep this post alive :)

ps if anyone could tell me how to post graphs, hands etc that i would appreciate that a lot so that i could post anything interesting over the time.
ps2 sorry for my poor english and longest post ever :s_cool:
ps3 my skype name is tzatzikis4.anyone who wants can add me but please write that you are from pkrstrategy so that i accept you!thanx a lot! till next time  :s_biggrin:

      thanx vorpal :)

the truth is i didn't see it but i am going to..you mean mostly the strategy poker videos as well as the forum right?

one main problem till now is the fact that being just a basic member i can not have access to many interesting videos/articles.i hope it's not really hard to climb up the ladder( i can't find what to do to get points lol)!

i also can not convert a hand from previous hand history into a watchable one. i am using universal replayer so whoever knows how to do it would be really helpful thanx!

1st session was really hard for me.played 10 multi table sngs mainly 45man 1.5$ but also at least 1 of each category i mentioned on first post and i cashed in none lol.maybe it was the fact that it i started at about 7.30 am after i finisher my blog posting and was too tired to play my A or even B game.

      anw starting bankroll 340 euros
      current bankroll 323 euros

i need to solve that hand posting thing so that the blog will become more active so..anyone please help

Pass the quiz to become bronze, get starting capital on a new site, crush some $1 tourney's to make points - move up levels to silver.

Check out Poker rooms and Promotions and choose, or check out forum categories for different sites and reviews.

Don't hesitate to ask anything, ppl / Moderators are very helpful, and depending on your mother tongue check out International Meeting Place for a thread from your home country?

Your english is great, and you may find it easier / more rewarding to discuss things with fellow countrymen / euro$ players

      Anyways gl at the tables!!

GL buddy, and btw i like your BRM as the 180 mans are very swingy but can be very profitable, and the 180 man hypers, lmao you may as well buy a lotto ticket ;)

@ castle93 thx m8! hehe i know it's really tough to get to 1st places without being extremely lucky and hypers are worse than a lotto ticket imo hehe that's why i mix them with 45man's which are my main source. for example in one session i might play 9 45man 1.5$, and 2 of each of the other categories so that it can be a boost for my br if god falls asleep and i win one of them lol(talking about the 180s obviously hehe). firstly i need to take always the right decisions though so that i can minimise loss and maximize profit according to each session.ok let's start posting some important hands to get things going.

      1)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1781490

blinds 50/100. easy fold or maybe with 14 blinds we should start pushing? which is the optimal range for shoving here?

      2)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1781497

is there any shove here? he has a 50% steal overall. is he even having some kind of folding equity? optimal range for shoving in this spot?

      3)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1781498

is there the any2 mode at this point? or maybe i should be more careful? tight opponents.

      4)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1781503

      easy shove bad decision?

      5)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1781507

standard one? opponent limps in for 60% of hands i track him(only 10 hands in total though).

      6)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1781513

could i fold this or it's right to shove at that spot. opp aj

      7)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1781514

opp sees 40% of flop and has 30% pre flop raise. maybe i'm ahead of his range here?

ok these are something to start i guess, i will be posting more difficult situations to solve in the future, especially those that trouble me as these also.take care guys!

suggest you try deucescracked HH converter(It's on their main page), just copy, paste and convert....

About your bonus/starting capital, try contacting tech support(there are mixed reviews but when I opened an account for the recent free money I got someone online to help right away)

also post your problem in the poker770 category and someone will help you out

What I mean is you need to open a new account at a site thru the links here and then request your starting capital(I haven't left Stars yet either, hence, "Destined for Bronze"

Making strategy points by playing raked hands on that linked account= points to earn higher status= more vids and strat.

1 more session just ended. i played 17 sngs in total and cashed in 4 of them..although i made a profit of 13 euros than yesterday, i feel too disappointed by the fact that i couldn't win a single hand at final tables.. some examples here

      1)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1782897

it's not an ft hand but i can't understand why the hell he is calling(talking about the 10-Js guy)

      2)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1782899

      he has 2.5 blinds i have 3, he has AQ i have A8s, i flop fl draw plus 3 outs but still lose...ft @ 1.5$ 45man

      3)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1782934

      2.5$ 180man...1 time!!!!!

      4)
      http://www.handconverter.com/hands/1782935

      3.5$ 45 man....36o ftw!!!

i also decided to quit playing those hyper turbos 180man because their variance is just not real imo and the only thing i achieve by playing those is losing some extra $! i will probably add 1-2 45 man 1.5$ to fill that gap.

so after 2nd session starting bankroll 340 euros
      current bankroll 337 euros

3rd session just ended. starting bankroll 340 euros
      current bankroll 339 euros

15 tables this time and at least i am reaching starting bankroll again(5 itm but +2 euros only)..currently losing almost every crucial coinflip to the big stacks but hopefully this will change..

my main query about these sngs is about some opponents' calling range.i often find myself on the button or sb with 10-14 blinds and shove with rag aces or medium pairs, sometimes quite worse hands(like suited kings or queens etc) depending on holdem manager stats. so i often see those on bb calling for their whole stack or at least half of their stack with hands like 10-Jo, 2-Js,K4s etc..it's just my opinion or are they drunk?calling that much(regarding their whole stack) with such crap hands? and the funnier..they always get lucky and knock me out of the tour lol  of course that's what you wish for calling ranges but as far as i lose those hands i will be whining :f_p:

just found some videos relating to multi table sngs so maybe these will help me i guess..

what about any books for mtts or multi table sngs guys? anyone having xperience about this stuff? although i don't have much free time at the moment, i could write down the titles and start searching them :f_biggrin:

time to relax...no more sessions today!

today's title should be: holy shit!

when i woke up this morning everything seemed fine. i was having exams for the university(starting today and lasting till the end of June) in the afternoon but that doesn't bother me because i am used to it and i could pass just by being lucky with the proper supervisors or fellow students.

i finished the exams and i was trully confident of having passed it so i was excited to do some really crushing online sessions and get at last to a profit.

then a friend of mine had that terrible(as proved) idea to visit the local casino. i agreed just because my confidence was high and thought i could turn the last bad results to this casino(i had lost 4 consecutive allins for at least 200 euros each on 50-50 or better spots on flop last 3 times i visited).minimum blinds are 1/2 euros so we took each 150 and headed to the casino(we made an agreement before,if anyone loses we instantly leave).

so we were both written at the waiting list some time i was the one who should enter the room as there was an empty seat.my friend was to enter right after me.i sat down changed euros to chips and waited for the big blind to get so that i can start(i never start out of the bb).

and then it was that time at last.i post the big and utg raises to 14.. everyone folds to the button who calls..sb fold and i pick up AK!*so i raise to 37, utg folds(!!) and after much thought button moves allin having me covered..i called to see him trapping(???) with QQ.. flop came 5 3 7 turn Q and...next time! i must be the only one on earth to achieve this..i should be very proud i guess :f_confused: great recent live run continues yeah( i also lost A8o vs J7o for 11 blinds all in at just pro-bubble(lost 18-16 itm) action at a live tour recently)!! start praying dude :f_cool:

*as i ve seen from those hands that i was sitting at the table but i didn't play, utg must be really a fish as he made a terrible play 2 hands ago having a flush at donkbetting allin making the opponent fold top pair top kicker without reason imo.button's flat call didn't scary me a lot.

so what is left for me to do now is play some online multi sng sessions to forget this pathetic casino night and try to win some of that back

Hey everyone!(if anyone is following anyway  ) here i am again after having serious thoughts of how to improve my winning rate.

after reviewing my latest sessions it seems that there is not real problem at my shoving ranges as i put the money almost always in front but keep losing to donk-calls. so i decided to change some rules about specific table opening.

1st rule: minimum buy in to enter a multi sng is 200.so i need at least 500$ to enter the 2.5 180man in order to minimize variance.

furthermore, and depending on my recent results, i saw that it's easier to get itm at the 45mans so i m going to mainly grind that type and mix with only 1/3 extra of the other types(18,90,180) to get more stable results.it's just a hopeful thought anyway!

so 3 more sessions and i m down to 337 euros
      from a starting 340 euros
no surprise that i didn't have a profit though cause ev seems to be elsewhere.i am running almost every important coinflip/dominated/70-30 etc at my last sessions and something needs to be changed quickly..!

hey dude, im playing 180mans also, and i want to think that im pretty good at them.

I play them mixing with MTTs, but u know i have had played them for living for 2$ for some time and what i can say is that better is to play like 12 tables and concentrate on stats and spots and use some tracking to search for regs, so u can adjust with ur calling and shipping

i play more to tighter side, but when im in money i loosen up, i turbos to win u dont need to be top5 stack all tournament, u can be last 10% of field but in the end come on top. SO the basic thing is just play less tables maybe more hours, but really concentrate on oopenet, play tighter against regs with ships and call them looser (if hes no tight reg) and own fishes who limp/folds with 5bb, etc...

in 2$ you can for sure get ROI like 40%
