Well, it doesn't make sense to Call the pot size bet either then while at least you could decide whatsoever bet pick yourself vs his stack. Most likely I would assume that those shorties wont bluff the river nor I don't see them Check/Raising you very often. AF is also just 1,8.
While you could easily yourself just avoid him making such stabs on you, could bet the flop like $2 and then 2nd barrel a lot of turn cards even for free showdown if we assume his range being wide. Vs 44% range:
