      Hello muel294,

      Wouldn't say it's standard, if you are against a reasonable range, the equity:

      Board: T:club: J:spade: 7:club:
             Equity     Win     Tie
      UTG    57.97%  57.62%   0.35% { JJ-TT, 77, JTs, 98s, Qc9c, JTo, 98o }
      UTG+1  42.03%  41.68%   0.35% { AcKc }

      we need ~45% equity to make it profitable. Therefore he has to be raising with a lot worse hands here and including also Jx. :) So dependent on the situation I would decide what to do and how I see him. Might even take the odds over shipping.

      Best Regards.

      yeah fair point.

      I think if he 3b's bigger or ships the flop then I can call it off or just put the $ in since he would more likely play weaker draws and TP's that way.

      However given that he min 3b's I am getting like 4:1 and even if he bets 2/3 pot on the turn I think I would get 2.5:1 and would need like 2.8:1 to make calling such a bet break even or better and I would almost certainly get the required implied odds upon a river hit.
