      Greetings

I've always been fascinated by cards. Tarot, everything. But poker affected me deeply since I was a child. I remember my father teaching me Poker when I was 6 vividly. Ok, it's getting a bit dramatic. I still remember my first game. It was a family gathering. Kids were doing stupid kids stuff. But I wanted to play poker with the grown-ups. I dunno if it was beginners luck or they just didn't have the heart to crush a child's winning streak but I won money from them.

I was like, wow, here's a field where I can beat the crap out of grown-ups! I can have their money without nagging or crying or begging! That feeling tattoo'ed itself all over my soul and yet I carry it.

It felt the same the very first time I sat on a table in Empire Casino's poker room. There were rich, successful business men, and I won their money. Ace as the lowest card in the deck, could be still laid over a king. I too, as a small-time foreign student with no prospect or anything, could win their money. I must say, It felt great.

My father always says even if the US President doesn't know how to play poker I wouldn't consider him a real politician. I can understand what he means.

Anyway, I started playing seriously back in 2009. Had excellent cash grinds live & online, also MTTs. Put FTP's downfall put a halt into my career.

And the wait! for every speculation, news, gossips, lies from maniacs, checking websites 50 times a day put me into a limbo state.

I have 5 figures in there, and yes I was stupid enough to trust FTP like a bank. And yes, I started my career with only $50 on FTP and it had always been +EV. But what happened wasn't fair and really derailed my life.

So I've waited, and played less and less and tilted more and more! If had just let it go the very first month, I could've started again and be way more ahead today. But I didn't. Whom would've thought this would happen. A year and not even gossips anymore?

I now, have realized I too am to be blamed for letting this plague blackening my life for so long :s_confused: . Oh lol :D

And with spending savings for a year, paying different mortgages in different countries! deciding to get married (hasn't happened yet!) and tripling my expenses, and try to be an Architect again after so many years with a baby buttocks salary! I could not re-invest much into the game anymore. So I've thought, it's alright, I start from scratch. I grind pennies again and save up and move up hopefully.

But apparently lady luck blew me a kiss, and I found myself, or better to say, a staker found me. So I don't have to start from absolute zero anymore. Which is I must say, really lovely!

Must thank again Simon for trusting his money with me. I've got a long-term recurring deal (If I don't screw it up :P ) with $1500 for start to grind <$8.80 MTTs. And he's really anxious to move me up as fast as I can run. Hope I can make the best out of it and get back into the high BIs soon enough.

I decided to make this blog to keep track of my progress, improve my mindset and have fun with you guys through this restarted journey. And writing is very therapeutic for me.

I'm gonna start playing tonight. Wish you all guys out there good luck.

      So here it goes.

First of all, I would like to welcome you to our blogging section.

Wow, five figure score built from nothing, gone just like that, FTP hit everyone, of course, but it has got to feel worse when you've built so much from nothing...

Best of luck on your staked deal though, hopefully you will be able to keep your cool and build your way back up to independence again!

Will be following your progress, good luck!

      Regards,
      Richard

Welcome M0na1isa, what a story! I'm sure you'll be able to find the golden path again and shiiip big time! We go up and down but most important that we always stand up and try again! I can't say I know how you must feel losing all that money on FT but admiring you coming back and try again! Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support. I've never been a fan of any communities my whole career, now I know what I've really missed all these years.

So last night I had a small session. I had quick hits before, but they were sorta like "meh, I can't believe I'm down to this again! Can't believe Ivey is probably freerolling through WSOP (btw I'm sorry we lost touch I've been rather busy, good luck mate, go for the ME title!) but I have to play $3.30 Freezeout with ChuchNorris1337 & ArthasHazEpix, whom should clearly go back to playing World of Warcraft, at the table."

Btw, I have no idea when I should be using "who" or "whom", so make your peace with that.

But last night was different. I recalled something which I can't say I had forgotten, but haven't thought of it for a long time; How I got my nickname, Mona Lisa. I assure you, me throwing like a girl had nothing to do with it! Some regular once called me that, because no matter what happened at the table I always kept smiling. And it kinda got stuck on me. And I added a 13 to it (my FTP & Stars nick), meaning that I'm not superstitious and I can beat luck with skills.

So all the abhor was gone. I wasn't cursing my luck anymore. I was again calm. Nirvana!!

So last night, all the anger was gone. I don't say that I don't care about my money anymore because dead cats would sing before that day comes! But I wasn't angry anymore. I decided not to follow NVG anymore, remove my Google account from FTP News list, Probably if FTP pays up or gets re-opened again I will find out about it anyways.

Also decided to put a good portion of it into charity, to help people with gambling problems. I think I owe them that. I'm gonna do that even if FTP never comes back, just have to grind a lot for it.

Another decision was to keep doing this even if FTP comes back. Grinding my way back up. I know it may sound stupid to you guys, But it feels right. Some sorta rite I have to pass again!

It was a small session. Played 15 MTTs. Bubbled up a couple, FT on a 180man. Nothing special & it was a loosing session anyways. But it had its upsides as well.

First I had this feeling, Alrite Chuck & Arthie (we're close now), I'm stuck with you guys for awhile, So let's have fun.

BTW, I mean no disrespect to all the good players grinding micro stakes, I know many of you are way better than me, but I find more bad players playing lower stakes. You guys know better, you suffer everyday ;)

So when my Rockets got cracked by AQo, when my Queens were turned into cheap sluts (No offence to all you sluts out there, I'm sure many of you are a better human being than me) by K7o, When got called on the flop and villain hit his 2 outer, I didn't get mad a bit (yes, not even a bit & I wasn't on Prozac, smoking joint and getting laid at the same time).

If it was before, I would've been like, If those misunderstood poor souls (I know, took a lot of me to say that) haven't done whatever they did (really don't know what they did, apparently they invented some sorta device which could turn matter into shit) I wasn't playing this now and there are less Mr. Norrises in high stakes whose idiocy makes me ashamed that I too, am a human!

But it made me happy. With all the media, websites, free strategies, video channels, radio channels, books, ebooks, coaching, people on the bus, barking dogs (they don't woof, they go ffffoold), End of Mayan calendar, majority of people still play very very bad. Fishes are a plenty and sharks are a few. And it's still an easy game to beat.

So stop harassing them. Stop criticizing their play. Stop calling them donks, idiots, morons, etc. Stop explaining to them why their play was wrong. Whenever they donk, pat them on the back. Tell them WP (and not in a sarcastic way) and hug them if you can. Because they are the backbone of poker economy. I'm not against people learning, but if everybody learns, this game gets much harder and life is hard as it is so come on people!

And FYI: Multi-tabling is not like riding a bike. I had a hard time to multi-table 8 tables and used to do 24 while watching soap operas. So I guess I have to ease myself back into multi-tabling. Maybe go with 4 for now. Anyone has any experience with that?

Alrite, sorry about the wall of text. Apparently when I open my heart I can't close the gates easily so it's gonna keep on flooding.

      Cheers,

(oh, and multitabling: it took me quite a long time to be at ease with 8. Once I got there, it seemed very straight forward to get up to 12. However my monitors are not great, so I am keeping it 8 - 10. But I am sure that if you already played so many profitably, and you are a pro, so it will come back quick)

Had my second session last night. Was a bit migrainey so just played 5 MTTs. Got eliminated from 4 pre-bubble. But one I ran deep.

$2.20 6 handed $3K Gtd, 1649 runners. Was running good till half way through bubble. Kept first position for long time with 4x 5x avg. stack. Cards were just coming. Kept betting and hitting nuts on the flop! It was all good.

Then all went dry suddenly. Missing flops with AK, over cards over my pairs, losing all flips and in favour races. Went down to 10-12 blinds. Still a lot of people left and prize was still nothing.

But I played good, remained cool and patient. Stole some good pots, made some good folds and shoved at some good spots. I got in the zone, fields was easy enough. I was absolute ready to ship it. 30 Players left. Had a good stack to push me through.

      Till this happened.

KK vs 53, Shoved Pre-Flop, got snapped!

Yes I smiled. Well, I looked more like Joker than Gioconda for sure. There are some tournaments can change your career/life forever. But surely this one wasn't one of them. So we let it slide :D

I mean I couldn't ask for more. Guy called me 53 that deep with that deep of a stack. And I hit top set on the flop. Can't be sad over just the river card, eh? ;)

Such a nasty hand there.. but as long as they keep making those kinds of mistakes, we shouldn't be too sad when they get lucky, loving the attitude towards it!

      The Fish Code:

Fold is a lie, there is only call.
      Through call, I hit cards.
      Through cards, I gain chips.
      Through chips, I gain victory
Through victory, my pockets are filled.
      The Poker shall free me.

      The Shark Code:

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no bad beat, there is variance.
There is no passion, there is patience.
There is no luck, there is skill.
There is no end, there is the Poker.

Had a chat with Simon, Japruler (what does that mean anyways? closest we've got is that you're the Japan's ruler but incognita) and he decided that I can toss in a $11 once in a while too. Indeed good news.

But gotta keep ABI under $5 to still be in the safe zone. Was thinking of two strategies.

      1. Play $11 MTTs with smaller fields, 500 entrants max to lesser the variance and be able to play more.
      2. Focus on Big $11 and keep it on grind untill I cash big! (yay!)

      What do you guys think?

Going to play Sunday Million for poor & under privileged tomorrow. It's out of current BR. Although Simon has bought some shares and couple of other people (I'm not advertising to sell).

I'm gonna play it perfect. I'm gonna play it so good that even if I hit 2nd prize I'd be pissed! A bit hard to not to disappoint myself eh? Well, I'm gonna forgive myself no worries! :]

Also half-priced Sunday Storm. Which someone else staked me (then again sorry Simon couldn't ditch the guy). I usually do well on Sunday Storm, and by well I mean getting eliminated in first 8 dealt hands. So all good. Hope the other staker doesn't read this though.

Also started playing $2.50 180man. They're fun. Kinda like ICMTrainer but only costly with prizes. Maybe grind some to see how they go.

Used to listen to Classics or Jazz during playing Poker. Recent sessions were silent. So I'm gonna listen to Rammstein from tonight. I'll inform you the results and effects.

My graph from last 100 games. Nothing special yet. Stake started 43 games ago.

Covering lots of MTTs tonight. Including Sunday Million. I feel good tonight. But I feel good every night so don't read much into it ;)

Hi fruktpuff. Thank you for following my blog and your support :s_love:

Made Sunday Million to the bubble and ran with QQ to KK. But already forgiven myself ;) I only had 2 playable hands the entire run tbh, one KK on BB which everybody folded before me, and this QQ. Bluffed and stole the rest of the party. So it was sad when I saw my Queens to their husbands so quickly.

Also made another $60 from rest my session. Still haven't done anything impressive yet. Had some deep runs but hands went dry and couldn't save myself from elimination. But all good.

I think I'm a bit hasty. Want to cash big faster and only been playing for 5 days now. Large fields do look very attractive for me and don't have enough appreciation for lesser prizes. I've turned into a fish I guess :f_love:

But gotta remain calm and patient. What's more important is EV+. I have all the time in the world (well not all the time, no one's getting any younger!) Will get there, hopefully :s_biggrin:

Tbh, its nothing. It has no roots in a historical event or some kind of Japanese ruler. Once when I was a kid I had to come up with a screenname for some videogame or forum, I dont even remember where it started.. I can up with Japruler for no reason other than that im half Japanese. Clearly I wanted rule too. I started to use it for other online screennames aswell, and here I am! One advantage I found is there is no one else in the world that came up with 'Japruler', because the name sucks ofc, but its nice that I dont need to come up with numbers or anything because a nickname is taken :)

Gl with todays games! And be patient. Like you said, it has only been 5 days so far, and mtts variance can.. well you know the rest..

what is your usual volume when you play? 30 mtt per day? With such small volume you are doing great imo.
