First I must say: It IS probably bad luck.

Yesterday I decided to move my BR to ladbrokes. The bonus looked nice enough to give a boost.

I followed the instructions and deposited my whole BR. When you deposit you chose to deposit to "sports, casino, poker" etc. I chose poker, but somehow my money ended up in sports. I tried to "transfer" the money, from sports to poker but got an error message saying "it cant be done at this time, please contact us at care@ladbrokes.com or call this number".

So I sent them an angry email as I thought this was a very nice welcome and a good first impression. Today I get an email saying they have locked down my account because the info I gave them does not match the info on my CC. This can only be confusion in the system as I would never sign up with false information.

They now demand a photocopy of my passport AND photocopy of my CC both sides, AND a bankstatement showing my adress.

I'm going to ignore this request, as I actually dont want to send out my whole ID to a pokersite and I cant get a bankstatement beause I use an online-based bank, and they don't accept online bankstatements.

My only choice is to report them to my bank for accepting a deposit then locking down my account.

This is way more than I signed up for.

I hope the lady luck is nicer with you if you sign up, but I can not recommend going to ladbrokespoker.

      V.

DId you get your money back?
BTW, there is nothing wrong with sending those copies. Most sites demand them now, and you can blackout with paint any personal information.

it's a good idea to have a bank account just for poker, so that you are not afraid to give out any information.
and moneybookers is better, once you have verified everything, you have no such problems with the poker-sites.

i hope everything ends up good for you.

I am cosidering to start using moneybookers/neteller because visacredits take an insane ammount of time to process. (2weeks on average)

I just got my BR from Everest, waited two weeks for it, and now its gone again. I have some on FTP, but its really not that much....

No idea when Im gonna get my money back, I do know Im totaly turned off playing at ladbrokes.

They broke a lad before he could start playing.

I purchased a pre paid credit card. I deposit on to the card the amount i want to deposit. I dont have to worry someone is going to take any money. It's a MC Credit and it takes aprox. 15 seconds for the cash to go through.

Why does Visa take so long?

I have no idea what a prepaid credit card is, sounds like it defeats its own purpose. :D In my country we have two kinds of cards, one is credit, where you loan money from the bank and have to pay them back. The other is a card you that is directly connected to your bankaccount, so when its empty, its empty. Last one is the most common, and safest.

Depositing takes about 15seconds with a CC/VISA, but withdrawing takes up to 15days or something because your bank must end its current billing cycle. Its the same reason why you pay a bill one day, but it dosnt show up before 2 weeks later.

      Pre paid is just.

Empty with no cash on it when you get it. Then you just put money on it when you need to use it.

So there is no risk of lossing money cause you decide how much is on the card. There is no over draft etc..

It's not really "credit" but they are either mastercard or visa.

Just to add to the story.

They answer about 1(one) email every 24 hours, and they do not seem to care one bit about what I say to them, they still want my ID.

Ladbrokes are not any worse than a lot of poker site and about the only one that can use PayPal to deposit

But would recommend anyone to sort out a Neteller account and you will not have any problems with Poker Sites requesting ID

yeah, the best thing you can do is using neteller. It is great, the deposit is instantaneous and you have no problem.

I deposited in ladbrokes about 2 weeks ago due to the bonus, I used neteller and everything is ok. In about 10 days I will have obtained enough points for the bonus plus the rakeback. It is full of fishes, but you have to be patient, very patient and try not to get on tilt when people raise with marginal hands, reraise with marginal hands or go allin with marginal hands and you loose :)

So I would recommend ladbrokes, but only if you play SH nl50 or higher limits (I play nl100), you complete the bonus and then think about moving to another site or staying...

EulogioJ ! I saw you many times on tables .

Like you said it's very fishy and there's a very big variance but the bonus is nice since I got about 96% rakeback (bonus + cashback) on the first 1.5k rake

what is your nick in ladbrokes?

And perhaps you can help me, I cant make pokertracker import my hands, something related with the need of sq lite 3odbc, but I do not know how to download it....

Do you use pokertracker and AceHud correctly in this site? Sometimes I can not make the correct decision without the stats...

I've played on Ladbrokes for a couple of years now and i must say that i have found the banking side of things to be excellent. If you are a UK player you can transfer your poker winnings to your sports account and collect them in any Ladbrokes shop. I don't know of any other site where you can have your winnings in your back pocket almost immediately after the tournament. There may be some sites that offer this service but i personally dont know of any. I would even go as far as saying that the banking facilities are the main reason i play there so often. I've received excellent customer service from the support team and have enjoyed many bonuses and special offers. Obviously i dont know what its like for players based outside the UK but i think it would be unfair to criticise Ladbrokes too much.

I have finished the 1000$ bonus this month and I am waiting for the 30% rakeback. I am thinking on going on playing on this site (I have to control my tilt, difficult with so many fishes hehehe).

You say you have received bonuses and special offers. Could you please tell me a little more about it? Is it possible to receive other bonuses or offers in addition to the rakeback?
In addition, there are weekly rake races. I am thinking on playing hard to be able to get a part of this cash. Has anybody here finished ITM in these rake races? Just to know how much rake I need to generate...

Their customer service is really bad, I had to ring one time because a transfer from my bank to my Ladbrokes account was taking longer than 5 days to clear. I got put on hold for about 15 mins, then transfered to some Indian guy with bad english in Gebralter!! it took another full day for them to sort it out.

In the stores all goes smoothly, I have a card that I use to lodge in and withdraw and it's handy for me because there's a shop very nearby.

But the standard of play and the suspicious, miracle river cards on the software leaves a lot to be desired.

I had AA beaten by raggy J's catching river straights 3 times in one day!

One time was on a final table, just after my AKs got fished out by 10 9 os, a lower stack re-raised me so he was all in! he caught a 9 on the river. The NEXT HAND I got AA and since I lost half my stack on the AKs I went for it, J9os the only caller had, caught his straight to the Q. Unbelievable. I know it happens on every site but it happens a LOT on Ladbrokes.

Does the money not matter to you?

Pokerstrategy asked me for the information that poker sites are asking for. I have had to validate my Solo Card many times because you can be 16 and have one.

For it to happen on two sites maybe its not the site maybe its something to do with you.

Ive had to wait longer than that with Pokerstars sometimes its just pot luck whether you get it fast or not. Those miracle river cards happen on every site and also in the casino believe it or not. Rigged i tell ya.
