Villain looked like a reg and he still does from his stats, did not notice him very much before this hand.

I thought he was just full of it on the flop and decided to go with my hand. Can you explain why would anyone play a hand like this here in this way? (facepalm)

      Hello DeMarcohsp,

Umm, don't get the question there. :D Villain play is pretty standard, I'd say. Only thing what I don't like from his play is the raise size which gives decent odds to draw with FD. :D Nice hand!

      Best Regards.

Well since he can make money here by letting me bluff or value betting worse hands his 3bet on the flop is a mystery for me and can't understand why you guys agree with him. Can you be a little more explicit ?

well since everyone is giving generic answers i'll dive right into it. I would almost never raise this flop for several reasons. I assume BTN range is wide? Not alot of relevant stats you posted for this spot but let's get into it anyway. Btw how can a 21/17 with a 3bet of 7 have a 0.0 AF???

      A) let's suppose villain is passive postflop. You can easily call the Cb now. Since he is passive you are not generating alot of fold equity anyways and you are turning your hand into a pure semibluff. Don't focus to much on fold equity with these types of hands vs passive players. Focus on actually making your hand and extracting value for it

      B) villain is very agressive postflop and 2 barrels alot . Awsome you can now reraise alot of turncards if his range is wide. Your fold equity becomes much stronger against a villain who likes the typical 2 barrel cards like an Ace on the turn. when u spike a K or Q u can just call obviously and hopes he bluffs rivers

      C) villain who is aggro but doesn't 3 barrel bluff alot. call flop and turn and lead the river on any K , Q, spade or ace.

His perceived value range here is not that wide once he 3bets, whilst when he calls he has showdown value given that board (not enough draws there).
