Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BTN with A :diamond: 2 :diamond:
UTG raises to $0.40, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.20, 2 folds, UTG calls $0.80

      Flop: ($2.55) 2 :spade: 6  3 :club: (2 players)
      UTG bets $1.60, Hero folds

My HUD says that villain has not called a 3Bet OOP yet.

How do you evaluate my preflop decision? Villain is tight so it shouldn't be that hard to play against him postflop but isn't he too tight?

      Hello Avatars91,

Preflop: Well, it's still not the best spot to 3bet against UTG range here, plus also having shorties behind you.

      As played
Postflop: Not much to comment. What else do you want to do here? :)

      Best Regards.

Apart from the fact that there are shorties behind, what else speaks against this light 3Bet?

My own try to evaluate this spot: I would imagine that suited aces are not good hands to 3bet against a UTG range since it contains a lot of stronger Ax hands and if I get called I am dominated and that's not really that great. I guess that against UTG it would make sense to 3Bet SCs since they are not dominated often and can hit much better?

Or is light 3Betting against UTG not really something for me yet or NL10 in general?

Why? If they ship da money we can't call them even off and would have wasted the money just for nothing. Especially with them being a bit more 3bet-happy might be the case that they are easily shipping with looser range.

As long those guys don't even fold AQ/AK then what's the purpose of 3betting there? Especially vs UTG range which is rather nitty, not really the best option.
