      PokerStars - $0.50 NL ZOOM - Holdem - 9 players
      Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

      Hero (BTN): $56.11
      SB: $54.09
      BB: $142.99
      UTG: $30.72
      UTG+1: $67.56
      UTG+2: $55.80
      MP: $28.69
      MP+1: $52.47
      CO: $27.58

SB posts SB $0.25, BB posts BB $0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.75) Hero has 7:diamond: A:diamond:

fold, UTG+1 raises to $1.50, UTG+2 calls $1.50, fold, fold, CO calls $1.50, Hero calls $1.50, SB calls $1.25, BB calls $1.00

      Flop: ($9.00, 6 players) Q:spade: A:spade: 8:heart:
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, CO checks, Hero...?

      preflop: multiway
      flop: ???

reasons for a halfpot bet (in order of relevance):
      - there may be spades around and no one bet (so, value from fd)
      - we have position
      - protect our little equity from random cards
      - some information (we can't really call any bet on the turn unimproved)

      reasons to give up:
      - may be self-valueowning on 6way pot (some AJ hand or something might prefer check/call mode, even if it's a weak line)
      - worse hands that call are almost only fd

      Hey Tomaloc,

      You forgot SD :D
About the hand. Well OTF I would personally bet and the plan is B/F. If I get a X/C then I would reevalute the T. Maybe turning even my hand into a bluff at some point if I assume his AK,AJ,AT stick around or maybe notif I assume they are drawing. So IMO Bet and reevalute ;)

yeah, with 6 people in the pot there's bound to be some fish chasing a GS or something :D

i also decided for a bet for the glory :f_biggrin: not sure it's a good idea to try to get mostly unknowns out of better hands though

      Hello Tomaloc,

Well, rather Bet yourself and pick the sizing yourself than face a huge Bet on the turn which you ain't able to Call. :)

      Best Regards.

fine, but then in general on which turns are we giving up besides spades?

[edit: now i realize that it's a kinda silly question because "it depends!!1" and still there isn't really any card that we can point out and say "this clearly improves their range"... so we just fire again on any non-spade in the name of protection?]

Kinda. :D Cause practically I might even Check behind the turn, cause even 7 doesn't help us nor does the A. :D Well, maybe 7 does help a bit more than Ace. And might be the only card which I might consider 2nd barreling.
