The first time I lost with the pocket AA's it wasn't really a big deal. I'm sort of becoming conditioned to bad beats. After all, poker is still gambling -- but with an edge!! Then, when I got another pair of pocket AA's, on the same table, the very next hand, and got that cracked too.. that's when my stomach turned.

I got pocket AA's on another table (I was multi-tabling) a few hands later, but same ole same ole, everyone folded to my raise.

(Oh wow, BONUS HAND. As I was writing this I was dealt pocket KK's. Raised and got re-raised all-in pre-flop. Hit my set of KKK's on the flop. And whaddya know, villain creeps in from the backdoor and catches a gutshot straight on the river.)

(Ha, now I'm dealt pocket JJ's and cooled out by pocket KK's)

Talk about a disgusting swing, all in less than 5 minutes, with darn near premium hands. 4BI, gone, just like that.

2nd hand was badly played, so that doesn't count as bad luck IMO.

      Shit happens

Could you explain to me how so? Maybe I misread the SSS...

EDIT: was it the 1/2 pot bet?

Push the flop in the 2nd hand.
Pot is $1.30 and your stack is 1.40.
Normal 2/3pot bet would be $0.85, which is more than half of your stack, therefor a push.

The rest is played good, preflop all-in with those hands is what you want.

I think 9s would have called anyways since he clled 70 cents so he couldn't really escape that beat imo. 4 hands like that in <5 minutes is really horrible. But 4BI isn't that much for SSS so keep playing good and your Aces will hold up more often in the long run. :)
