No idea what I did in this hand and what should have been done instead. I put some possible ranges for him donkbetting here and our 66 are not really ahead here so why raise? I would assume that he is calling very often anyway.

Even as played, I am not sure if I understand exactly why I bet the turn. I did want to see a free showdown and he can still call with FDs and maybe even some weaker pairs from time to time but I am not sure if I am ahead of his flop calling range here to make that bet any good.

I suppose I could have just called the flop and reevaluate turn?

      Hello Avatars91,

Both options are fine, though vs loose guys we might even want to keep the pot rather low with mediocre made hands and play it way ahead/behind.

      Best Regards.

If we raise the flop then what kind of a raise is it? Do we generally expect to get value from weaker hands/protect our pair or do we try to bluff him off his equity? Because I think we are not that far ahead of his range and neither can we be sure that he is folding whatever it is that he has that often.

If we raise in those spots then of course we are trying to get value, it's not really a case where you will have tons of fold equity vs his better hands.
