Decided to play this nitty player with the plan of floating him when he gave up on the turn if not the flop....bet the turn for value although it is possible that he had a nine. Was it a mistake to call the river bet....it seemed to small not to

      Hello legand73,

Preflop: Your play postflop proves that you are rather weak with those hands which means fold it preflop.

      As played
Postflop: What's the reason for betting the turn? From how many worse hands do you get called? If you Bet it then at least do it as reasonable sizing not as "I am scared, please don't continue bet size". :D

River = see above what I wrote about your Bet size there, will also tell you what you achieve with such a sizing.

      Best Regards.

yeah i am rather weak at these but i'm trying to improve...What sizing would you suggest? and would you rather have checked behind? then what would be your suggestion for the river if i had've check behind the turn?

Yeah... why 2/3 of the pot is too small for bluff bet? after a raise preflop? maybe the raise was small enaugh?

Should he be betting a pot or a little overpot like 18 ?

I'd go towards 26 cents and which will secure me very often a free showdown and value from worse. :) Correct, I'd Check behind the river cause you ain't gonna get called from a lot worse unless he is a huge station.
