I think you need to think about poker in terms of the reasons for betting

On the Turn you cannot bet as a bluff (an Ace is not folding), and you cannot bet for value (his turn calling range will beat your KK on average in my opinion). Thus the clear option left is to check back on the Turn.

Betting for protection/to take down the pot is very overrated, especially when you are not really afraid of any card in the deck falling on the River (maybe a Jack?) but still that's only 3 out of 46 cards which is like 7%. Another Ace is actually kind of a good card for you since it's less likely he has an Ace himself (and will also make him more likely to pay you off with a JX hand)

In short, I check back Turn and call most rivers. We would have lost a similar amount of money but in my case I would be able to see the showdown and win some of the time. I also get to see his cards and take down notes on SB.

      Hello faronel,

Why would you want to Bet the turn for fold equity? You would want to Bet there for value if you would Bet which means from Jx hands. Though you wont really get called from him a lot more than 2 streets -> which means Check behind and reevaluate the river.

Though as played not much to comment.

      Best Regards.
