      Hi gxtwo,

I don't like the way you played the hand agaisnt this nit.

Why do you want to 3bet this? Our hand plays much better in raised pot against his nutted range imo. We are turning our hand into a bluff againt an opponent which has a v strong opening range and with hand strong enough to call IP.

Postflop I would not raise him. When someone like him donks here I think he is strong. I would only make a move if I thought I could make him fold QQ-TT (when does this happen?) + he could just have the lower sets in his range.

If he has a fd himself it's better to keep him barreling and keeping alive the chance of coolering him (though I don't think he is donking this often, but it's possible).

      Best regards.

i forgot to mention, I had been 3 betting this player a lot vs his 2.5x steals and was folding alot.

I thought maybe this time he was trying to take a stand.

When he donked out, i felt like he was just getting annoyed with my 3bets, and was trying to take the pot down as the board is pretty dry apart from FD.

If he had a hand, it would make more sense of him to x/r flop or x/c flop x/r turn.

That's the reason i choose to raise the flop.

It makes a lot of sense for him to donk with a lot of hands since you are not going to cbet this board all that often imo. Hands like 99-QQ are better to donk here than to x/r since they are not that strong and you are not that likely to cbet this board.

Try saying out loud your arguments, it looks a bit to me that you are trying to find any reason just to justify your play. When he donked out, i felt like he was just getting annoyed with my 3bets, and was trying to take the pot down as the board is pretty dry apart from FD. This is not good argument to me.

      Best regards.

      Hello gxtwo,

Preflop: What's the reason for 3betting here? Doubt that you can do the 3bet for value vs such a nit and mainly will get called by dominated hands.

      As played
Postflop: Nor I don't like the raise here cause nitty calling range and donking the flop range will be rather stronger hands which ain't folding. Vs stronger overpairs which he could have our equity ain't that good and therefore just call and reevaluate the turn.

      Best Regards.
