Back on track - not looking back

      Hi everyone.

Some of the dutch community members might already know me.
Quite some time ago I used to have a blog there, back in the time
when i was grinding 50NL on the ongame network.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances I had to quit poker for almost half a year.
Just a week ago - with a roll small as $250 I was looking to get back to NL50 as quickly as possible.
I have been playing on stars for about a week now, mostly on zoom 10NL
and the results are satisfying. It took me some time to re-adjust at the level and the
nittyness but after some 45k hands I have been beating the game with 7bb/100

      Who am I?
:s_ugly: I'm just another guy. Call me Oro if you like. You will get to know me if you decide to
      read me.

      Why this blog?
Keeping track, meeting people, making friends, improving and many more but for the
most part it must be the lonliness in terms of - having no one around with whom I
      can discuss poker.

:club: Just grinding a lot for the time being. I was thinking about >10k hands/day.
Earning loads of FPPs -> investing in tournaments up to $55. We will see where it
      goes from here.
:club: Sticking to an extremely conservative BRM so I never again have to worry
about beats, swings, varience. I think it is way much easier to handle if you show
somewhat more patience. I got this from Dusty Schmidts book - Treat your poker
like a business. (Big recommend!) Won't move to 25NL before I have 2.5K
Another reason is that I have become somewhat rusty and right now I feel too
comfortable at NL10 do be trying anything else.
:club: Post hands that for some reason caught my attention. Just the most unusual
:club: Achieve all of these goals.
:club: Make platinum before the end of the month.
:club: Achieve that goal as well.

Right now my roll says $698. Last nigth I managed to win some moniez in two of
the three tournaments, I enrolled for purchasing a ticket from the vip store.
      (Storm, Bigger 11, Bigger 55)

Oh yea, I play SH by the way. Even though I have never been overly active on
pokerstrategy I do have a lot of sympathy for this website and its members.
If any one of you guys is out there as well (ZOOM NL10SH) let me know and
I might consider not eating your soul during the following weaks/months :s_wink:

So far, so good. See you at the tables - sooner or later.

Thanks for welcoming me folks. This time I'm here to stay.

U assumed well sir Gregor. Given you are from Slovenia you can narrow my origin
down to a couple of countries - at least - you should be able to:)

I'll PM you and check your blog out later.

As for my progress, I barely slept last the night before yesterday and yet i looked to
hit the daily 10k hands mark. Over the first 4k hands i was 10BI down ?( . 5 may
have been sick set-ups, 3 I might have gotten away from but I did not and 2 were
just due to my F game. Having figured that out I took a break and slept for 1.5
hours. I am not saying that I played much better after that but the following 4k
hands were great and I almost broke even for the day.. and then.. the last 2k hands.
Trying to sqeeze em in, especially when the trend is positive. Guess what. 5 BI down.
Today I slept just fine.. through the whole day

At least I will be well rested when I hit the tables tonight. Gotta look to get back to a
normal rythm as soon as possible. Wake up at (latest) 9 am next day no matter the
      cost X(

My game has been pretty poor - and somehow I think this blog might have a
negative effect on me. All of a sudden one is supposed to show some results..
good results. It does create unnecessarry pressure but I will just cope with that.

Here a couple of hands that caught my attention.

Here I had to make a crying call despite the fact my opponent is known for his
      excellent, thin valuebets.

Hand converted with online hand converter:

      Hand afspelen

      $0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

      Known players:
      SB (Hero):

Preflop: Hero is SB with K, A.
MP2 calls $0.10, 2 folds, BU calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.50, BB folds, MP2 calls $0.40, BU calls $0.40.

      Flop: ($1.6) 4, 3, K (3 players)
Hero bets $1.10, MP2 folds, BU calls $1.10.

      Turn: ($3.8) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $2.20, BU calls $2.20.

      River: ($8.2) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, BU bets $2.71, Hero calls $2.71.

      Final Pot: $13.62.
      Results follow:

      Hero shows a pair of kings(K A).
      BU shows a pair of threes(2 3).

Hero wins with a pair of kings(K A).

In the next one I get raised on the river by a what I assumed rather passive player,
at the same time I get furious because he is raising and shutting a potential overcall
out and making us pay more rake. (of course he has to raise there then I thought again)
Very happy when I saw the outcome. Btw, I decide to slow down on turn
since this is zoom and they both call my cbet on super dry board.

      Flop: ($1.05) 8, 4, Q (3 players)

That's it for now. Soon more to come.
      Run well!
