Hey there beginners, regulars, pro's and coaches. Rihard4a over here, starting my personal blog.

So from here the journey starts...

I've playing at the micro-stakes (NL2) for some time now, and still cannot get out of there. And for that I blame my self. I kept making up silly excuses like, okay this isn't my day or like I was unlucky during that hand and that hand...

Now it is time to stop this bullshit, and stop lying to my self and get to action if I really want to go up the limits and earn some money.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! /Rocky/

If I'm not going to anything about this then nobody will.

At the moment my chart looks like this. !WARNING! IT IS ULTRA NOOB !WARNING!

No matter what, I am still now going to quit, I love poker, I love everything when it comes to analysing situations etc.

I'm going to post my progress here, some charts, hands etc. Doesn't really matter if I get much of support or followers, I'm still going to be glad if anyone will support me and give some tips now and then.

      Ressurection

So this post is a revival of my dead blog.

Some of the frequent posters in my blog have noticed that I have abandoned this blog due to lack of interest, so I kinda felt that I waste my time spending in writing my posts for this blog. However, since now it won't matter, as if I will be doing it for my own pleasure and motivation.

I will compile in this blog my progress through limits. I will still be playing No-Limit Hold'em, Shorthanded, at stakes NL2. I will implement BSS into my play. So nothing new in that aspect. I will try to start some strategy discussion here, and anyone wishing to join into a discussion do not hesitate and post your replies here, I will appreciate any support.

I will also update my weekly and monthly graphs, as an evidence of my progress. I will post unclear to me hands, or the ones I find problem in some line taking, and I hope that some more experienced players will help elaborate the problem.

I will be playing at Unibet, which is Microgaming network.

      Starting BR: €31.03
      Current BR: €36.04

      Short-term goals:

:club: make enough BR for NL4
      :club: improve preflop play
      :club: improve stat reading skills
:club: improve play in 3bet pots
      :club: improve overall postflop skills
      :club: beat current limit
:club: learn analyzing my own hands using HEM

      Mid-term goals:

      make up to NL50
 improve as a player - practically and mentally
      read more poker books
 study PS.com material for higher limits

      Long-term goals:

      :spade: Beat NL1k
:spade: Have poker as another source of income, however not to be completely relying on poker
      :spade: Become millionaire through poker
      :spade: Win WSOP
      :spade: Win EPT
      :spade: Win PCA
:spade: Get featured in High Stakes Poker

So so far these are the goals. Any other goals that I will come up with, I will add them to the list. I will keep the list updated once something get achieved or changed.

Hopefully this will keep my motivation living.

      Thanks for reading.

      Best Regards,

      Rihard

Tonight as well I'm going to Glasgow with some friends and play some live poker, depending how many people we will have, we probably will have 1-2 table SnG. This should be fun. :) Leaving in about an hour.

Well got back from my poker game. Ended up being in 4th place out of 12. Happy how I played, except for two hands which I made wrong folds, that could easily double me up. But what's done that's done. I will definitely remember those.

The very first hand I was involved in gave me a K  flush on the turn. I had K  9 :diamond: with a flop that had some rubbish cards x  x  x  . Added some chips to my stack on the turn.

The other hand I liked was when I was dealt with A :spade: K :spade: did double me up very good. Raised before the flop, got called. Flop was like K :club: 9 :spade: 2 :spade: . Did cbet the flop, check/raise turn, shove river.

At some point I was with AK again but off-suit. Had low stack, due to high blinds, had to shove. Got called. Overall we split the pot because the guy had also AK, BUT... He had A :diamond: , flop three :diamond: 's. When river was something 8 :club: , I was like phewwww...

Finally busted out at 2k/4k blinds, having just 5k in my stack went all-in with 5 :diamond: 5  , got called by the big blind (obviously). He had T  8  , he rivered his 8, and I was set off home. Still not disappointed that I finished 4th. Had a good experience.

      Peace out.

I am at university at the moment, but I'll get back gonna start playing poker rather my cards, which I think is a big mistake especially at nl2. My clear mistakes also was that I kept thinking about winning money, and if I lose a buy-in I would get a bit frustradet and thnking "oh my br is now $2 less..."

Gonna learn from my mistakes, I know that I am capable to improve and that my mind has no-limits, a good reason to play a no-limit game! Ha! :D

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Had another not so big session. Ended in profit. This makes me smile, but that's not what I am focusing on when I'm playing. The technique is all that matters for me right now.

I'm sorry to say this, but when playing 6-10 tables you're not going to grow your skills that much. I'm playing 8 tables myself at the moment, but I think it's good to cut down to 4 and really pay attention to the play.

I played on nl2 for a long time as well. I only played 4 tables, but I managed to win $30 in a day! I made $80 in 3 days irrc.

Best of luck on the tables!

This is excellent advice. I stayed at nl2/5 for a loooong time playing 5/6 tables and ended up playing in autopilot mode, not really thinking about decisions. And I only started to improve when I dropped down to 3/4.

At micros you should really focus on improving your game and thought process rather than grinding volume. It's a mistake nearly everyone makes imo, including myself.

      Good luck!

      Hand 1= standard

Hand 2: I would check river

      Hand 3: Fold flop

Hand 4: hmm close call or shove, not sure.

      Hand 5: Fold flop.

Anyway that is what I would do. Post the hand in the evaluation forum and then you'll get the right answer :D

Why I shouldn't play FR? I am considering to move to 6-max but I need to build some bigger BR for that. But could you please elaborate for me why choosing for me SH at the moment would benefit more?

Sorry, meant to say that I don't play FR so my advice might be a little bit off. Nothing wrong with FR of course!

Just play whichever you prefer, not suggesting one over the other. I just worded my sentence poorly. Sorry for that!
