So this is me venturing into the world of 'hand ranges' rather than specific hand'reads.'

      iPoker - $0.10 NL - Holdem - 6 players
      Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

      UTG: $10.05
      MP: $16.34
      CO: $2.85
      BTN: $18.09
      Hero (SB): $10.00
      BB: $3.00

Hero posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

      Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has 8:diamond: A:diamond:

fold, fold, CO calls $0.10, BTN calls $0.10, Hero calls $0.05, BB raises to $0.30, CO calls $0.20, BTN calls $0.20, Hero calls $0.20

      Flop: ($1.20, 4 players) 3:heart: A:club: 4:club:
Hero checks, BB bets $0.60, fold, fold, Hero raises to $3.00, BB calls $2.10

      Turn: ($6.60, 2 players) Q:diamond:

      River: ($6.60, 2 players) K:spade:

Hero shows 8:diamond: A:diamond: (One Pair, Aces) (Pre 64%, Flop 74%, Turn 86%)
BB shows A:heart: 6:heart: (One Pair, Aces) (Pre 36%, Flop 26%, Turn 14%)
      Hero wins $6.16

At the time of playing, this felt thin. I'm plugging it into Equilabe (very new to this tool) and now realising it wasn't thin it was most likely just a loosing desicion.

Shipping 27bb on flop to win pot of 66bb if called = I need 41%EQ

      If I give villain
      as a calling range I have 22.4%EQ

      I have no info on villain but if I am very generous and include;
      A2o+, 88+, 56o
then I have 57.5%EQ (now profitable.)

This is not calculating fold EQ etc

What do you think of this spot?
Am I using this tool appropriatly?

      Hello MasochisticDesire,

Yeah well but you don't have that much beat there unless BB isolate rather loose, even if he does then the problem is that there are still some 2pairs possible. Nor I don't expect him to CB anything worse into mulitway pot than Ax. :) So we really have rather little hands beat and he has a lot of better Ax hands.

      Best Regards.
