at my local casino the lowest stake (1/2) has a max buyin of $100(50bb)and a min buyin of $40 (20bb). Since max buy in isn't the standard 100bb. Whats the best way to approach this type of structure?

I am rather surprised that the casino capped the upper buyin limit at 50BBs. Maybe it has something to do with the rake (i.e. the maximum possible amount of rake can be taken from 100BB pot which would be two-way "full-stacked" all-in and, hence, they do not bother to allow the full stacks). Another scenario may have something to do with table rake (i.e. the tax casino pays for cash table).

However, if it is full-ring, then in terms of strategy, for me, it is a straightforward SSS-MSS play. Especially during a late Friday evening when some "pro grinders" start piling up at the table after a club and a few drink rounds "to show their poker skill" Just nit and shove. :f_biggrin:

Id say this too, double up and you will be able to play your normal game here are the short and midstack strategy articles though if you wanna have a read up on how to play with a shorter stack: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/sss/

Thats what i thought, i thought since the blinds are too small i should do SSS and or MSS because 50bb isnt really enough to do anything even though its technically a max buy in.

A lot of live players suck anyway so just play strong hands pre and if you have a table where everyone likes to limp you will get some nice odds for playing hands that flop well and play good multiway like suited connectors and when you hit a flop just get much money in as you can
