He had been playing pretty tight plus I was probably letting past experience crop in. Been in that spot a few times and come up against aces or kings.

I was planning on basing my post flop action based on whether he bet or not, board texture and bet sizing

Okay so if the board had come A high or J high would you fold as well? This looks like spew to me, don't you think he will bet AKs or JJ here?

Yep, totally see what you're saying and on another day maybe I'm shoving. Based on the fact that he was only playing made hands aggressively I didn't think he would 3-bet with anything below AK or QQ+ and wouldn't c-bet AK unless he hit the flop

      Hello odin444,

We cans till Call preflop whilst we even getting decent set-mining odds + of course we have a strong hand. Nor I don't see any problem with the fold if you really assume he ain't CBetting non-made hands and rather does that with very strong hands.

We wont see that often Check on the turn anyways and will be difficult for us to continue there whilst we might just overplay our hand.

      Best Regards.

Out of curiosity, if you were playing the hand and had no read on Villain, would you re-raise his bet on the flop or just call and fold if he fires on the turn again if a brick hits?

If you want to get it in on such a flop then rather do it preflop, this should answer that part. :) So raising would just make a lot worse to fold aka you have beat more hands preflop as vs AK which wont go broke here.
