Prima, $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 4 Players

      SB: $49.69 (99.4 bb)
      BB: $68.79 (137.6 bb)
      Hero (CO): $52.03 (104.1 bb)
      BTN: $93.99 (188 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A A
Hero raises to $1.50, BTN folds, SB calls $1.25, BB folds

      Flop: ($3.50) 6 8 9 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2.50, SB raises to $5, Hero calls $2.50

      Turn: ($13.50) 2 (2 players)
      SB bets $13.50, Hero folds

      Anon table.

SB is fishy, as I remember. Is it worth calling flop? The board is really ugly, but I have the A, so some backdoor equity.

      Against what range?

I dont think it would be huge +EV, rather breakevenish at most. Of course it depends on the range we assign him (weaker overpairs, maybe TPTK).

      Hello pcfmcc02,

Nah, I like your play here. Even if he has a weaker hand it will be very often a decent combo-draw type of hand which has very good equity against yours. So I like your play whilst we also have backdoor FD + have position.

      Best Regards.

What is our plan for the turn? Are we basically hoping for a check from villain or a small bet? Because we can't expect much from this hand anyway and might maybe even just fold on the flop already?

Either decent odds or improvement with our hand as an Ace or . Flop folding is another option if we assume he ain't bluffing that often in those spots and has been rather passive.
