      Is this fine to play this way, I had to protect against FH, which would play this way.
      Should I bet flop for protection also?

      I usually prefer raising the flop here, because you would be bluffing there more often while a turn raise seems usually more value-heavy. Also, a 4th spade would kill all the action, and with a paired board you would need to switch into calldown mode.

      However, with that being said, there is merit in delaying your value raise, sometimes all the way until the river, if you keep those things in mind. It depends on how you think you can get most value from villain: does he keep betting into passive players? Does he like to barrel, also with bluffs? Does he think you are weak?

      So I'd say it's fine either way.

      Hello Resilence,

      Raise the flop right away, raising turn just smells and is a lot stronger whilst he might fold a lot hands then. If you call the flop then also Call the turn and ship river.
