Hey everyone, this is like my 4th attempt at making a poker blog on here - four is my lucky number so hopefully will make it worth a read. Basic info about me - 22 yo student, from UK, work part time and spend the rest of the time on poker or going out really.

Some cliffs for my poker journey from last year until now:

After Black Friday, decided not to put any of my own money into poker anymore so I started a BR building challenge from $0. I did the very start on William Hill, moving on to Carbon, Titan, Everest etc etc. During the period since then, I've withdrawn money, invested into other poker stuff - HEM,HEM2,PT3,PT4,SnGwiz, ICMIZER and others. Training videos as well

I have the most experience on FR sngs but I'm by no means an expert or anything. Have also played some HUSNGs which I enjoy as well.

At the moment, I've just finished my games needed to clear a bonus on an american site. I planned to play the hyper turbo HU games on there but due to lack of decent BR for them (100bi for my comfort zone), ended up playing $5 6 handed DoNs. My plan was to breakeven due to the high percentage of rakeback I was getting but ended up with some profit as well:

      [ ] Sample size :P

Some games are missing from the graph, the stats overall are:

      Games: 268
      Stake: $5.35
      ITM: 62%
      ROI: 15%
      Profit: $219.55

Also, was up ~£200 from live poker since september but have since managed to blow all the money on booze haha, attempting to go sober until new year's.

      Short-term goals:

      * 600 $6.36 DoNs on cake until end of next month to clear another bonus.

      Long-term goals:

      * Pick a game and stick to it. Going to be between 6max and HU hypers, with HU being more likely.
      * Keep RL money and poker money separate for not, learn to manage my money better IRL

Didn't play any online poker over the weekend - was out friday and sunday nights and worked the rest of the time really.

Had a ~2 hour session at my local casino after work on saturday night, was pretty card dead and played bad overall. Was going to be my first losing session - was down ~£5 until the last hand before shutting time. Technically, it was last hand +1. Turned the second nut flush against villain, who got it in with the nut flush draw and held. Was a cheeky ~£46.50 profit on the night, so I'm not complaining.

My "live poker roll" as I like to call it is now at £230. Going to try and keep a live roll, online roll and other money separate. I enjoy live poker and it seems to be profitable so far, with a small sample size. I will not play any at the casino until the end of next month - got too much coursework to do and online grinding to do.

Feeling pretty tired today due to being out last night, so won't bother with grinding tonight either - going to uni to play a PLO tourney. I'm a huge fish in PLO so that should be fun :)

      Week goals:

      Play 100 $6.36 DoNs - [ ]

Donked around in that Omaha tourney, came 6th out of 17. We have a league point system thing, so placings do matter for that.

Played a small session online after that, ran pretty well:

      This week:

      20.58/252 fpps (8.1%)

I have decided to play another 20 days to clear the bonus that I have. It requires me to play 26 games on each day - I six table and this would take me about 4 hours.

      Days completed - 2/20 10%

I am struggling to manage RL money - I just got paid and I'm absolutely skint. Going out three or so nights a week for the last couple of months really did take it's toll on me financially.

      My RL goals for November:

      * Gym 3 times a week
      * Do all of the essays I have
      * Save up money as I'll take a 2 week holiday in December
      * Keep a "log" of all my spending so I see where my spending leaks are (guessing food, alcohol an other shit like that)

Today's live tourney at the uni went pretty well until I lost an all in to a rivered 2 outer, for a higher fullhouse :(

      Online:

      Days completed - 4/20 20%

Time for another wee update - I will be playing tommorow as well and then some more the rest of the week I think.

days completed : 6/20 (30%). Need to finish these by the 25th of November. After that, I'm taking a break from online poker until the 15th of December :) Feeling a bit burnt out grinding every day for 3-4 hours and NOT doing ANY studying about the format but it's cause I know I won't be playing these games for much longer.

Hm time for an update I suppose. Been playing a bit more online now, last week was spent in uni doing coursework pretty much.

Had one 8 hour long session with maybe a 5 minute break in there. Was constantly 6 tabling and felt I played pretty well overall. Never imagined I'd play such a session on dons without wanting to kill myself from boredom - during that session I played some FR dons and bubbled all :X Have got to say I prefer 6 handed a lot more.

I need around 200 games more until sunday which will be a challenge in itself BUT after that Im taking a break from online poker for a bit so I can afford to burn myself out by then.

Yessss, my kickback bonus on cake is complete. Played a straight session of about 8 hours or so again. Definately not my best game, played around 10 tables at one point...

I did most of the offer in November, so here's my stats:

      Av stake: $5.4
      ITM: 55.4%
      Profit: $123(+$90 bonus + $15 cash4points + $46.5 mtt wins) = $274.5

And there's the kickback bonus on top of that, which was what I played for mostly.

Here's the graph, which was swingier than I wanted it to be lol:

Time to see how long cake will take to ship me the money to moneybookers :P

      Overall BR is:

      $858 (+ 2 $22 tickets on ftp lol)

Congrats, I'm doing a similar thing trying to build a BR on DONs at Ongame. It's progressing well. What's the next challenge then?

I am really in two minds about this - the last 3 months I've been constantly getting better at 6max don, which is not to say I dont have as many leaks as the Titanic. I have one more offer to clear on another aff. site, to maximise returns. It will be on the same network, I am now used to the software and its flaws lol.

After January or so, when I have done the final offer, I will start with HU hypers I think. I will give them a go for a bit, try and maximise hourly rates

Thanks, what games are you playing? We might be indeed haha

the only reason I played so much lately was due to poor time management before then. I played a third of the games that I needed for 60 days in just three...

We shall see how the new year goes. I am thinking of taking a small step challenge on FTP, with a $100 BR.

Aiming for some step 4 and step 3 tickets, which I'll use up in january.

      After that, who knows :P

      Hm time for an update:

      RL stuff:

      - 2/3 exams done: Thought they went well. I will need to pick things up in the next semester though, in the 1st half of the first semester I did like nothing for a lot of my courses...
      - Will be taking a wee challenge for the next 22 days (till NYE).
      - Will be working full time from the 17th onwards for the next three weeks.

      Poker:

Waiting 2+ weeks for my cashout from Cake. I was expecting a long delay but for Skrill this seems pretty bad already. I am sure I will get the $$$ eventually but after sweating for a bit. Only left myself with $100 on moneybookers due to cashouts for real life stuff. I will re-invest the money taken from my poker accounts later.

Will be playing on bwin during december, only need ~300 games at the $3.30 level. Using a $100 BR which should be enough. Tried the turbos to begin with but variance decided to shut that door for me(check below), and I transferred to regular speed.

Kinda tilted from the fact I cant seem to find where the hell my hand histories get saved on HD, so cant use EV graph or HUD. To be honest, I will not miss my HUD that much, I only 4 table just now - so it's not hard to make profitable decisions.

      Graph so far for december:

      Games for december:

      11.8% completed.

Bah, jinxed the cake withdrawal it seems. Just got it ;)

      Current BRs:

      Bwin: $108
      Skrill: $408
      iPoker site: $47.25
      FTP: $24
Money I need to reinvest: $350

      Total online BR: $937.25

I made the large chunk of this for the period of september onwards, for which Im happy of course.

Rah, I cant help myself. Here's my schedule for the so called festive period:

bwin - 232 reg speed games (3.30 level)
lock - 150 reg speed games

this will be on top of having work fulltime as well as having uni work to do.... FS I have bitten off more than I can chew again but I am up for a challenge!

      Jan:

lock - 417 reg speed games

      AND

ongame - 556 reg speed games (need the majority of these games done in january anyway...). I find the turbo 6 max dons a bit too mental for me.... hit me up if you play them - we can discuss where I am going wrong

Was ill the last few days, so havent played much really. Donked around on some FTP steps, but will leave them until the new year.

Finished my games on ongame(due to bwin moving to party, yay! </sarcasm>). So, this is my graph for ongame:

I wasnt sure that party had 6 max dons but apparently they do. Needless to say, with them it comes with a price (higher rake obv...). I will be 4 tabling these, the turbos as that's all there seems to be on that level. The play I have witnessed so far seems on par, if not worse than ongame so that's a good sign :)

      LIVE POKER:

Decided to stop playing live cash games. I really dont have the bankroll to play these as profitably as I can. For now anyway, I will be sticking to online poker only - as well as monday donkaments at uni.

Bwin games are done, already looking forward to going back to playing a bit higher stakes :)

      Some giraffes:

      bwin (ongame) - mostly reg games ($3 + 0.3) :

      bwin (party network) - all turbos ($2.7 + 0.3) :

      bwin (party) HEM graph :

And last but not least, my graph for the 25th of december:

Personal record - 20 bi winning day on DoNs LoL. Overall, happy with how things went. Obviously, loved the last day that I ran like a god and also played pretty well overall.

      bwin profit:

      $144.66
