The flop on this hand wasn't too good for me. I was just wondering whether I played it ok. I don't really have much info on villian I wasn't playing at the table for too long and wasn't using stats.

My theory on the flop was betting for protection. If he had a flush draw I obviously wanted to charge him to see another card. Once he calls should I have bet again again my thinking was protection against a flush draw but should I have checked for pot control? Once the river comes I obviously think I'm behind and check. Would you ever call on the river? I wouldn't have done

betting for value and protection seems fine play. He would call you down with worse hands, when 4th heart comes I would likely not c/c (unless it is really small bet) and since you have some showdown value, then check seems also good option

      best regards,
