      Anon table.

SB seemed TAGgish on small sample, did make some 3bets in previous hands before this one.
4bet him with bigger size, let's say 11$?
      Bet on any street postflop?

Why 4bet with A9o? I think it is not a hand to 4bet with, even against very loose 3betters. I'd fold preflop and wait for pockets, SCs, or an higher Ace and tighten up my preflop raising range.

Postflop as played, you have nothing.

It was a bluff 4bet obviously, with a blockerhand.

I understand it's a bluff, but I think A9o is not a good choice for that. If this is normal it might be a leak of mine. Care to explain or link an article?

      Not much theory behind it.

If I suppose that SB is 3betting me light frequently in that spot (which I do), than I can rebluff him in position. A9 is not a bad choice for that, as it makes AA/AK much less likely for him to have.

But if you flop an ace or a nine with an overcard or even without an overcard you don't know if your hand is good and are likely to pay him off on his higher aces and pockets. With SCs or pocket pairs this is much easier to play postflop. I really think 4betting with low aces is rather bad.

I'd not flop anything most of the time. Do you think that calling 4bets oop is a common move among regs?
What I want with this 4bet is basically to put him in push or fold mode, and I'd fold to a push obviously.

If that's the only thing you are doing it doesn't matter what you hold, 25o would do the trick. I think you never get enough fold equity to justify a pure bluff 4bet. If you open your range that much to exploit his light 3betting you put yourself at risk and justify his play. It is better to tighten up a little bit AND 4bet lighter, but not with any hand, in my opinion.

      Hello pcfmcc02,

4betting is considerable if you assume him 3betting light but I don't really like the sizing. Still would do it 2,5x and start adjusting accordingly we need it.

      Best Regards.

Would you consider taking a stab postflop?
Not the best board for me, could hit his range a lot, and I dont really have much equity either...

Not really, not the best board to do that.

Veriz don't you think its better to 4bet a polarized range here?

      Reason for that?
