how do you keep yourself from making bad plays late in a session? Ok I play mostly SNG's and MTT's. If you are playing cash you can just stand up, mid tourney do you sit out a few hands or just tighten up?

Discipline is a muscle that needs to be trained.

Say your session lasts a couple hours, make it your goal to play your best the full time.

If you make a mistake, great, you can analyse the situation to see where you went wrong then add this to a list of common mistakes. Before starting your next session, or even during your MTT breaks, you can review this list of common mistakes and then make it your goal to not make these mistakes.

Mistakes help us learn and better as poker players and individuals.
